It's a secondary validation code from Microsoft to verify and use to sign in to your Microsoft account. This number will call you back at a number you have set it up with, verifying you with a code to use to sign into your Microsoft account. It's Legit, not a scam!

This was the legitimate number generated by Microsoft to verify activity on my Microsoft Rewards Acct.  It asks you to give them the number you want them to call, then does so within seconds, giving you the code you need to finalize your transaction.

It's amazing all the people who know to whom this number belongs but still feel the need to come to a phone number look-up site. I wonder why that is?

First received 2 text messages at 3:57 am, one was from a 609 area code (New Jersey) both with a numeric code, then immediately a phone call from this California number. They left a message, but it was in Hindi, definitely not Spanish, leaving the same code they just texted twice to me.

It's a Google Play number giving you a code to enter to verify that it's really you that signed into your Google account.

Some say its Skype/ Microsoft, Microsoft Rewards Acct and now Google Play.

Always remember scammers will spoof legitimate numbers to scam you and verifying anything is something you want to be VERY Cautious about, especially if you did not expect a call to verify anything. Scammers use these 'verification' tricks to gain access to accounts or sign up for an account or service only they will have access to and it will be under your name or number.
If you did request something that required your number for verification, it usually calls within minutes of you making a request, so any other call  not within reason is most likely a scammer spoofing the number.

    Valid Call
Every time we get a call from a number I don't recognize, I come here to the internet to check out who is calling. Last night we received a call on my cell phone from this number at 11:30 PM. I was pissed because we get a lot of unknown calls but it's usually during the day, not late at night. It was a call giving a 4-digit code.  About a half hour later my husband came upstairs and said if a call comes in with a code, he needs the code for a program he is trying to get into on his computer from MICROSOFT.  I told him these types of codes are usually only good for 15 minutes or so and then are invalid - he needs to request another call back with a new code as I erased the call because I thought it was a scam.

So, it WAS Microsoft calling as far as our call here.  The only thing I can think of if you didn't request the 4-digit pin is that someone used your phone number or a random phone number when setting up programs or whatever on their computer because they didn't want to use their real phone number. Or someone is trying to get into your account and requested a call back with a pin, not realizing the call goes to the ORIGINAL person who set it up. This recorded lady that calls with the pin numbers sounds the same for online banking verification, so maybe this is a central place that many companies use for call-back pins.

Microsoft/Skype if you reset your password-you can choose for them to call you or send a text; text is better because you get the whole 6 digit number; with a call, some of the numbers might get cut off

actually it's a number for a verification system, companies like LinkedIn use it to send verification codes to users when they sign up for accounts etc. and sometimes people put in the wrong number and a stranger gets the call, or you can even use it to make the system dial people at all hours and harass them.
