I've gotten 2 phone calls from this number, 5 days apart, each at approx. 8:20PM

Got a call tonight at 8:21pm....

I assume it's UWEC fundraising.

Not telemarketing call, It is just uwec students calling to update records and fundraise. All you need to do is answer the phone.

yeah, 715-836 is for UWEC. It's fine.

Received call today 11/1/2015,1221PM MST.  Gal claimed to be from UWEC Foundation.  Asked if I'd been back to campus, or when was last time, can't remember which.  When I tried to find out why she was asking she hung up.  Sounded fishing, like some robo call scams that have been going on for some time.

It's UWEC asking for alumni donations and updating alum information. Not a scam.

If it's not a scam, then why did caller hang up when CB started asking questions?  Does make me suspicious.  Suspect they may use inexperienced young folks for these solicitation calls who get flustered when asked questions so they deal with it simply by hanging up.  Have experienced this behavior myself in recent past.

Left a message which consisted of eight "Hello"'s in a row, followed by a hangup.

It is indeed the UWEC Alumni Foundation.  When I've spoken with them, they're generally nice enough, just looking for donations.  I've stopped answering when they call as I always get stuck on the phone for too long and my answer is always the same.

I believe as the posters above this is UWEC.  However, calling at 9:00 at night is pushing it if you want a donation.

Definitely UWEC.  I graduated from UWEC and I've worked for several universities since then.  "Foundation" is always a separate non-profit organization with the mission of fundraising for the connected school.

I've donated to UWEC several times without an issue. The person calling is 99.9% a current student that is doing this as an on-campus job making just over minimum wage. Unless you are a donor who has previously donated large gifts previously (I'd guess at least $10,000 or more, and even 10k may be low) you'll never speak to a full time Professional. The full time staff focus on courting those large ticket donors.

It's UWEC fundraising. I made the same calls to alumni as a student 25 years ago.  I was donating time for a student business school organization.

Same here but it sounds like some of these may have been scammers too.

It's absolutely amazing how many people looked up a known phone number when there's no logical reason to do so.
