A woman claiming to be Stephanie Evans from the Department of Legal Services left me a voicemail yesterday.  She stated in her message that due to the 72 hour state of notice that me or my legal counsel would need to contact the office regarding a matter that needed to be mediated outside of court.  But if I would like the matter dismissed that I would need to contact her directly at 716-204-2204.  I have been receiving these types of calls for the past couple of years.  In my opinion they are bogus, they are a attempt at extorting money from people by threatening legal action if you do not pay them a sum of money to pay off a debt that you do not recognize.  I found in dealing with these extortionists that if you begin to ask questions they become hostel and usually end the call abruptly.  They never are willing to provide any type of documentation of the validity of the debt.  They are never willing to give out their location information.  I keep a very close eye on my credit report due to these calls.  I have no debt that would warrant these types of calls.
