March 15 2013   Cell phone 716 206 3095  7:46 PM          Call ID'd as Lancaster NY.   Left no message. Had never seen this number before so I called back because it was local. Operator said dial O and she would transfer to an agent, then I was told this was a 'Grass-hopper' call and she would transfer again. Then I got a message to leave them a message and they would call me. My message was "Don't call my number again"  Morons and the scum of the telecommunication system. Hope they all rot in hell.

I answered the phone by making up a business name and heard a recorded message about a senior alert system.  I told the clown that answered it he called a business and they hung up.
This week I started answering the phone to these telemarketers and they have seem either surprised or apologized. This is the first one to hang up when I used this gimmick.
Maybe next time I will act like I to own a senior alert company.

I've gotten several calls from 716-206-3095 that I do not pick up. It is automated and the message is targeting senior citizens for additional health insurance.  If there is any way to report them or disconnect that number you would be doing thousands of seniors a great service.

    thank you -

I finally answered from this number and actually talked to a guy who was VERY friendly at first...I asked him what my chances were of being put on their do not call list, and in his now UNFRIENDLY voice he yelled, "SLIM TO NONE""' then he hung up on me.  I am on the gov. DO NOT CALL LIST, what the hell good is that when so many of us have to put up with this!!!!!   Disrespectful, unprofessional scum is what we have to deal with!!!

First time I have had a call from this number. I do not answer these calls technically.  I pick up the receiver on the first ring (making sure there is NO background noise) and leave the receiver off the hook until it disconnects.  This call displayed "Lancaster NY" on my screen, and the voice was male with an accent who kept saying "hello, hello, hello" until he finally hung up.  I searched the number here to see if it is indeed another scam/phishing attempt.  Then I set up with my phone provider to forward the number to the FCC.  I have been reporting these types of calls for a couple years and nothing seems to change.  Forwarding the calls to the FCC seems to somewhat lessen the number of calls I am getting.

I know it works because a friend from years ago attempted to call me from out of town, and I had the unknown number forwarded to the FCC.  He sent me an email and said "what is going on?"  I took him off the forward list and we had a good long conversation and a couple laughs.  He said he called my number (which has been the same for a quarter century now) and was answered by an automated voice message that said "You have reached the FCC Complaint Office . . ." and he hung up.  Suits me.  Of course, I could end up being the one investigated I suppose.  We'll see.

First, "set up with my phone provider" ?  A little grandiose sounding to me.  Either you simply used touchstar, or I'm calling BS.

You should know that people have been prosecuted for such forwarding.  The charge (believe it or not) was "interfering with a government office".

Finally, your "pick up - don't speak strategy" is not ideal.  Some callers have a goal of harrasing you until you surrender.  They will figure if you are picking up the phone they will eventully win.  A call blocker takes you out of the equation, leaving them to pound sand.

I agree with you I have the call blocker...worth every penny..I also turned off my answering machine, what do I really need it for.  If I'm home I see the CD and pick up who I want.  When I come home I scroll thru the CD and call back friends, but for the most part it's these idiots...I think it really blows their insignificant minds when all they get is mindless ringing and their next call is blocked.
I do believe all these clowns that think there great because they answer these idiots are to BLAME for the rest of us putting up with this nonsense.   IF EVERYONE HAD THE GOOD SENSE ENOUGH NOT TO ANSWER THESE MORONS, THEY WOULD NO LONGER HAVE A JOB....AND WE COULD ALL LIVE IN PEACE.
    UNFORTUNATELY NOBODY GETS IT....AH BIEN!

Report them to the FCC here:

    https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2

Also on this site, you can register your number(s) on the Do Not Call List.  I don't know how often you have to re-register them, but I did it myself today.

This number calls 2 to 3 times a day. Same recording "Are you a senior citizen...." NO I'm not - no way to get to a human to tell them off. Reported to FTC's Do Not Call.  So far - still getting calls.

Agreed.  And as long as enough people are being successfully parted from their hard earned money to keep the bad guys in pocket change, the scams will continue.
