[***] keep calling me from different number, multiple times, same message. "you will be arrested in 45 minutes if you dont call back". This is happening in America. it has been happening for the last 2 weeks. Complained to authorities, nothing happened yet.

Why are these idiots still in business??!! Such a dirty scam to scare innocent people!!

I had a call from 407471 1301 on my cell Phone and from 716-210-8028 claiming that they were from IRS. With Indian accent saying to get my lawer as I will be deported.

The IRS is warning the public about a phone scam that targets people across the nation, including recent immigrants. Callers claiming to be from the IRS tell intended victims they owe taxes and must pay using a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer. The scammers threaten those who refuse to pay with arrest, deportation or loss of a business or driver’s license.

The callers who commit this fraud often:

•Use common names and fake IRS badge numbers.
•Know the last four digits of the victim’s Social Security number.
•Make caller ID appear as if the IRS is calling.
•Send bogus IRS emails to support their scam.
•Call a second time claiming to be the police or DMV, and caller ID again supports their claim.
The truth is the IRS usually first contacts people by mail – not by phone – about unpaid taxes. And the IRS won’t ask for payment using a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer. The agency also won’t ask for a credit card number over the phone.

If you get a call from someone claiming to be with the IRS asking for a payment, here’s what to do:

•If you owe federal taxes, or think you might owe taxes, hang up and call the IRS at 800-829-1040. IRS workers can help you with your payment questions.
•If you don’t owe taxes, call and report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Be alert for phone and email scams that use the IRS name. The IRS will never request personal or financial information by email, texting or any social media. You should forward scam emails to phishing@irs.gov. Don’t open any attachments or click on any links in those emails.

I received a call from this number saying transferred to reach me for months and now they are issuing an arrest warrant. Ok was not to disregard this call but have my attorney contact this number.

WE HAVE DECIDED TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION.  SPEAK YOU YOUR LAWYER,  A LOT OF VERBOSITY. I have no lawyer.
The spammer should have researched the facts. Threatening legal action.  When I picked yp the phone in the middle, the "MACHINE" kept on reciting the programmed words.  Can take the sleep away from your nights.

DO OUR CONGRESSMEN KNOW ALL ABOUT THIS??

I just got this call a few mins ago. The first I did to make sure the number was legit was check on th IRS link. And obviously it is not. I then I see all these posts with the same number. It feels good to know that it's a scam.

They called me but this number did not show up on caller ID.....they are now spoofing numbers & my actual phone number showed on the caller ID. I couldn't understand the robots message except for the number to call them back on which is the same number everyone is reporting. I called the service that supplies my phone & they did something about it.
