- Slim replies to Dorea| 1 replyLegitimate process servers do not call to warn you, or to get money from you to stop the process. They will deliver the notification without warning.
Also, if you were threatened with an "arrest warrant" via a phone call or email, read this:
http://news.uscourts.gov/warning-arrest-warrant-scam
"The warrant is phony. A valid warrant would not be served by fax or e-mail. It would be served in person by a U.S. Marshal or other law enforcement officer."
"Anyone receiving a fake arrest warrant should contact the FBI or the district U.S. Marshals Office. If there is any question regarding the authenticity of a warrant, contact your district clerk of court." - Dorea replies to SlimShe asked what was the process of them serving papers on my job.when I called the number back I got a recording. Saying they will return my call in 24hrs.
- Done! This company is trying to collect on a debt I know I don't owe. The message they leave is illegal per the FDCPA and they violate the law by refusing to send debt validation letters, they make illegal threats, and they are not allowed to refer to themselves by their initials to sound more official. The company PCS and associates is actually prime credit solutions, located at 255 great arrow buffalo NY. They have a suite number but I don't have it off hand.

- JSThis woman named "Natalie" called my elderly MOTHER 3 states away to report that her company will be "garnashing [my] wages starting 4 days from today & that they have a hold on [my] social security number as of today". The number on her caller ID said 206-743-0942, but the callback number she left for me was 716-240-2991. I've found the latter number on several other sites reporting it as SPAM & FRAUD.

The best you can do now is file a report with the proper agencies. Please read the following and learn your rights because now that you have paid them, they will put a big star next to your name and will be calling back:
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
