Just got a recorded call alleging to be the IRS stating that they are taking legal action against me, of course it didn't say why or even mention my name. It just happens that the call is a wireless number (Maybe) from the Upstate NY area. I guess july 4th. is the perfect time to make these calls as all the government offices are closed.. Another Scam call from the dirtbags of the world.. the number is 716-265-1615, and 800notes did not show any prior calls from this number...

I just got the same call 2 times within 20 minutes.  Also, getting them at home.  How do we report it?

Claiming to be from the IRS and filing a law suit against you.  Receiving them at work and at home.

Got a msg from a wireless phone saying they are from the IRS & they are going to file a lawsuit but never asked for anyone by name, BIG SCAM !!!!

Same thing here. Left a message claiming that he was with the IRS and collecting a debt that the lawyers were ready to go to court over. I said: Oh yeah, who is head of the IRS? Dead air. Then I said, the IRS doesn't call people like this, especially from a call center out of NY. He said he was in Washington DC. I asked him where the address was in DC. Could not answer that. Then he became vulgar and said he wanted to F me which I took as a compliment but still - criminals are stupid. I told him that his Indian mother would slap him into next week if she knew her son was doing this. He hung up but the number is still active.

Getting daily calls on cell and home # from 716-265-1615 - I don't answer.  I called from another number and it sounds like they are in a call center in the background and he answered Thank you for calling the Verification Dept. of the IRS, how can I help you.  I hung up.  Keeps calling over and over and I just never answer.  Need to permanently block the number, gotta get ahold of my phone company and cellular

Just got a call from this number, claiming IRS was filing a lawsuit against me.  I informed him that the IRS only sends written notification of lawsuits.  He claimed no one at this address was available to sign, so all the notices were returned.  That would be shocking news for the concierge desk, if true!  I asked if he was calling from Mumbai, since he had such a strong accent. He was flustered and tried to continue with his script, so I asked for a supervisor...one was put on immediately, who also had a thick Indian accent.  I told him what to do with his "lawsuit."  They're getting more sophisticated, so be careful

The IRS will never call an individual, so I answered the phone and called them out on it.  Mind you, I have had experience dealing with the IRS during a tax audit, so I know how they contact you - by the mail and by subpoena.  It was fun.

Recorded message said the the IRS was suing me and that I could find out more about it by calling this number back.

IRS scam

Indians and the IRS scam. When confronted about their scam a couple of the Indians claimed that they did NOT view what they were doing as a scam since they were targeting Americans. They said they wouldn't do this to other countries but since it was America they felt no shame in targeting U.S. citizens since we are "corrupt and evil."

Just got the same scam call

Same number, 716-265-1414, called me with the same I.R.S. scam

I received a recorded call from IRS today, said to call back at that number.  i ignored it and did not call back, thanks for all the other comments.

This is the 2nd call from a 2nd number. Just a heads up.
