Like everyone else, I got a call from this #; it was threatening, or would have been if the guy's accent hadn't been so strong - he reminded me just a bit of Boris of Boris and Natasha in The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show.  Google it; you'll crack up.

Yep they called.  Said he was an officer from NYC.  He  spammed the wrong number.  Sorry, don't owe anyone money and haven't been to NY in years.  And he did sound like Boris from the Bullwinkle show.  That's why I goggled the creep.

I also got a voice message from a "Officer Derrick Foster." He spoke heavily accented English with a dire warning to call 716-408-1799 or there would be "serious consequences" for me. Obvious scam call.

Received a threatening vm from this number from a man claiming to be officer barry foster, providing the hotline to his division as 716-408-1799.  He goes on to say it is extremely time sensitive and now dont try to disregard this message.  Says if he doesnt hear back from me or my attorney the only thing he can do is wish me good luck.  Isnt there any legal action that can be taken against this person?

Answered the call from so called Eric/Derrick Foster.  Laugh through the whole message.  What an entertainment!   A low life animal from up state NY with brain like rate, body like slug, and life like cockroach.  Get out to get a real job.

I got a scam call on my landline voicemail from "The IRS" claiming they are filing a lawsuit against us. Call was from 717-201-1256. Ninety minutes later, got another call which I answered, from 716-408-1799, a voicemail from "The IRS" and the guy had an accent. We are in good standing with the IRS so I know these are scams.

I got a call from this number. He left a partial message which was very hard to understand. Something about my attorney contacting him, and if he didn't " good luck". Do people really fall for this nonsense? I mean, i couldn't even understand what he is saying.

    Larry S,
Just got the call from "Officer Foster".  Could barely understand what he said, except that I shouldn't disregard the call, it was extremely time sensitive, and my attorney or I should call back immediately or "good luck".  For fun, I called back on a different line, and a women answering said "IRS".  I mockingly replied, "Really?  The IRS?"  and they hung up.

I got a similar call today.   A little disturbing to say the least.   I turned their number and the disturbing message left on my personal cell phone into our security officer who has a direct connection to the FBI.    Not sure what will happen but it has been reported to the authorities.   Somehow they got my phone number and they knew my name too.   I hope they get busted.

Well.... what do you know..... this guy call me twice today... same story as all the others..... he kind of had me going at first until I started laughing from disbelieve and then he said " your laughing now but would be crying later when the police showed up at my house" at that moment I knew it was a scam because the IRS don't talk like that to you, then I started laughing even more and it pissed him off that I wasn't scared, at that point I just hung up on him..... strange thing is he called me back four hours later and left another message like we had never talked before..... wish I could get this guy in trouble....Sad thing is, out of 50 calls there's maybe 5 people that freak out and give he some money and that makes it worth his time..... real

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Received a v-mail message 10/30/2014.  The caller was virtually unintelligible.  You'll never get a call like this from the IRS.  (I retired from the IRS in February after 25+ years.)  They may call you to seek payment of a tax bill, but you'll already have received multiple notices in the mail - they're required by law to send them.  And, hopefully, the IRS employee will be a little more professional.  At this point TIGTA (Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration) seems aware of this particular scam.  Do not, under any circumstances, give the caller ANY information about yourself.  If this guy calls me back, I'll try to engage him in conversation, see if he'll tell me the source of his accent, and tell him that what he's doing shames his parents.
