Received a call from this weird looking number. Did some digging and found that this might be Creditors Interchange Receivable Management, LLC - collectors.

These people have been calling me . My caller id just says New York, they are very rude and persistent

Recieved a call from this number and the woman stated I had won a settlement, Told her she would have to call back later today

Just received one, but didn't answer. I thought "555" numbers only existed in the movies. ;)

These people just called my phone 5 times in a row! within a total of ten minutes.

I got a call from that number 1-716-555-5555 today Dec.20,2007 at 1:24 p.m.The lady claims she is calling on behalf of JC penney about my husband and I filing bankruptcy, back in June. I did not file bankruptcy but he did. She claim he file for us both. That isn't true, I know he can not file for me,plus,I have the bankrupcy p hpone number.She claims that
we owe JCPenny,GEMoney back payments and balance on account. When my husband filed bankruptcy used a different adress to hide what it was up to. I find out by accident when I called the credit card automation system when I was checking on the account.I was transfer to their bankruptcy department and was told ,your husband filed bankruptcy. I didn't believe it and I ask what is the address that was use for the bankruptcy.I recognise the  address.JCPenny panic and they jump the gun. for about 8 months not a word from JC Penny or this bogus collection agency. She wanted to make payment arrangements with me or my husband .I told her that I wil not pay for anything but I will sue JCPenny etc.

Calls come and no none leaves a number or address.  The other calls were similar and that number is 500-000-0000 and is also very annoying.

These dirt bags have a history of not being able to control their collectors. Below is the results of an action taken against them last year in Minnesota;

Respondent allowed collectors to threaten actions they had no intention of taking and allowed unlicensed collectors to contact MN residents.

We have just recently received another interesting piece of information about Creditors Interchange. The State of New York is fed up with the unlawful practices of these knuckle-heads. Because of complaints from consumers about Creditors Interchange they were forced to sign a Assurance of Discontinuance to the New York AG. In other words; "We promise not to break the law again". I have attached a copy of the court document in .pdf format. If anyone has problems with this guys please send a letter to the New York AG office, I'm sure they can make sure you are heard.

Comes up Directory Asst. on the caller ID but caller was actually a customer of mine and works for Child Proactive Services of WNY. So it is generic ID

This number called me in the middle of the day when I was unable to answer. They left no voicemail or callback number, and when I tried to call it back it told me that the number was invalid.

In a fairly recent 2008 memorandum decision in the Supreme Court of New York State, the modus operandi, and therefore inherent personification of the entity, “Creditor Interchange”, its ownership, management and counselor’s is made public for all to see.

Although the defendant was ultimately awarded dismissal, the plaintiff’s reference to the use of misleading oral promises, as well of employing ‘dark legal practice’ in the phrasing of written contracts by Creditor Interchange is eloquently described within the context of the decision, and could be construed as a warning to others deliberating on whether to enter into any business agreements with the parent company, Credint Holdings, LLC, Creditor Interchange, LLC, its ownership, management, counselor’s and others, directly or indirectly involved with its affiliated businesses and/or ad hoc associations.

It is of additional interest that the planned acquisition of Creditor Interchange by Debt Resolve, Inc. (AMEX: DRV), terminated by the buyer, was due to Creditors Interchange’s breach of its representations and warranties under the purchase agreement related to its financial condition as well as the existence of a material adverse change in the financial condition of Creditors Interchange.

Debt Resolve Co-Chairman and CEO, James D. Burchetta said: "We are extremely disappointed we had to terminate our efforts to acquire Creditors Interchange. Unfortunately, the deterioration of the financial condition of Creditors Interchange left us no choice.”
