- Joe L| 1 replyThis number was sent via email as the fax number to send credit card info to in order to renew a domain name I own. It states it is a solicitation on the bottom. Pretty good scam - looks like a real deadline for the domain expiring, then says to change contact info - choose a plan, and fax back the email with payment info included. Very cute and totally bogus. Does anyone fall for this crap?

- Thanks 800Notes replies to Joe LJust received the same for my web address. I'm sure there are those that do go along - otherwise they wouldn't send this crap out. Added to Junk sender list.
- JoeReceived an email about expiring a domain, checked my domain and I see it will expire 6 months from now. Called the number and it was a fax number. All said the email and the number is a hoax, fraud and scam. Please check the integrity of any email then re-act accordingly.
Long Story Short ----- FRAUD- Caller: Domain Notice ????.COM
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Illinois ResidentSame story as above: received an e-mail requesting payment for "business Domain name search engine registration." The email subject was misleading, indicating "Final Notice of Domain Listing." At the end of the e-mail, an address in Hawthorne, CA, was listed, yet the fax number was in the 716 area code (Buffalo, NY). Fraudulent e-mail -- beware of scams!
- Caller: DS (??) Domain Services
- WebmasterI received the same message with "This is your final notice ..." in the subject line. The message also claimed that my domain "will expire on DECEMBER 30,2014 Act today!"
I reported this incident to spam@uce.gov and urge all of you to do the same. If the FTC gets enough complaints maybe they will put a stop to this nonsense before someone actually falls for it.- Caller: Domain Services
- KedzieFraud, domain is not due for renewal and they don't indicate who domain provider is.
- F-THEMInstead of bitching about it, do what I do, Fax 1000 pages to them at a time... Keep doing it on a loop.
- Rick PaytonJust got the same email as everyone else, only mine was for my sons domain that expired in the middle of 2014. It's not the first time I've gotten one of these, however, it IS the first time I got one for an expired domain.
And I don't feel bad for anyone who willingly pays them $500 for their "lifetime" registration fee.- Caller: Domain Services
- RevdakThis is a scam through and through. Like the old "slammers" who would offer to renew your long-distance phone and in the process move you to a different (and significantly more expensive) carrier, they're out to find people who don't get how it all works (or don't read the fine print). One of my friends for whom I handle a website fell for this, wound up paying 7 times as much for the domain.
