Legal companys will use it, its the illegal ones that break laws period.  No crook is going to abide by any law period.  Filing reports is also a "paper trail" and can be used against the crooks when caught. So its best to file all the reports and not just one or two..

Once a few weeks ago I picked up on this number, and it was the medic alert scam to "arrange for delivery."  I said I didn't order anything and hung up.  Now when this number comes up,  I let it ring, and they never leave voice mail.   I'm on do not call, so the scammers would have to pretend they are a non-profit and provide proof.

Receive a call from these scammers twice a month.

Just ignore the call and report it to the Federal Do Not Call Registry

Eventually action will be taken against the scammer.

Received the same call last week that I received this morning.  John wants to deliver my medical alert system.  I am also on the Do Not Call registry.  I report the number, I still get the calls.

They call at least 2 X per day.  I intentionally listed to their recording, spoke to a young lady, listened to their spiel and told her to remove my phone # from their date base........yah!  Their phone is not even listed.
I blocked the number, but to no avail....they keep calling 2 X per day for ever.

Where do they get the info from....e.g. your age?  That's what I like to know, the source?
Would be interesting to find out.  They are in somebody's data base!

Constant calling without a message. No answer upon call back -- a huge red flag for a fraud. Do not speak with these scamsters

Why create the dnc list if these things can keep on coming anyway?  5 calls in 1 hour, 2 different numbers, same line of bunk.

I contacted Home Advisors for a contractor to re sod my lawn, no sooner had I logged off. I had a call from 716-817-8528 , I tried to cancel appointment and all I get is a busy signal. Home Advisors should be more careful of who is on their list.

Just got the 3rd call.  When I said I wasn't interested he told me the shipping was all paid for also. So I ansked what the monthly fee was and then he starts giving me different options to push.  1  for more info etc.

medical alert spammers called from 716-817-8528, when call them back, the phone call will not go through and when dial 716-817-8527 that phone number is not in service.
The switch for this phone is located in Williamsville, NY but that does not mean anything.  The phone could be sequenced through that locaiton.
Many attorney generals around the country are investigating.  The scammers are calling the entire nation.
This is just crazy.

I get this at least once a week - Now they left a message tellling me I could get $3,000 toward grocery bills, in addition to the Medical Alert Bracelet.  I wish the government would put  stop to these scams.

I have gotten this call several times about the "medical alert" system that was ordered for me.  I almost believed that I was talking to a real person until I realized that the "voice" was talking AT me and would not stop when I attempted to interrupt.  What a scam-a-palooza!!  I feel bad for anyone who falls for this b.s.
Please don't give out any personal info to unknown robots based in Area 51.

These creeps have been calling me once or twice a day for more than a month.  Usually, it goes to my answering machine and the call hangs up without leaving a message.  Just once, I was close enough to grab the phone and listen to the recorded spiel.  I reported them to the federal do not call registry, the the NY State do not call registry (which is part of the NYS consumer fraud office), and to a consumer hot line on a local TV station, and apparently no one is doing anything to shut them down.  The do not call registries are respected only by law-abiding companies.  The crooks continue their hurtful activities without penalty!

And, why is there no option below in the "call type" to select "scammers" which certainly describes these awful people who are targeting senior citizens.
