Treasury Dept claiming violations and tax were filed incorrectly.  Do I want to take care of it now, that I should have received documentation.  When I refused to comply I was told a Sheriff would contact me.  I was called back by another person claiming they were the sheriff I told them to speak to my lawyer..

They called me as well told me I owed $2,000 and I had to pay now.  They said they are the US government, and they have a tracking device on my phone and they're going to come and arrest me in 45 minutes.

Caller said he was from the US Treasury and that I was in serious financial trouble, serious enough that I should have my lawyer call, blah blah blah.  Ended the call with "Have a pleasant day."  Really?!  First of all, the number he called is not the same one I provide on my Federal returns.  Secondly, I'm an accountant and I know how to file my returns accurately.  Most importantly, the IRS does not make telephone calls.  Sad that people actually fall for this scam.

I work at the IRS and this idiot calls my cell phone!  It's all fake, just a way to get people to give them money!  Don't believe any of it.  IRS sends letters to the address on your tax return if there is anything wrong.

Called and said they were with the Treasury Department and I cheated on my taxes.  Told me I owed  them $4500.00 and were going to take legal action against me.  After they hang up a Sheriff would be at my door in 45 minutes to arrest me.  I advised them I would have the Attorney General contact them if they called me back and then they hung up.  How stupid do they think people are?

Same scam as above mentioned . Legal charges would be brought against me and ask if I had a lawyer . Would not disclose charges , stated I need to speak the sheriff

This was my second call from someone (with a heavy foreign accent) claiming to be from th U S treasury said there was a legal action against me and I needed to have my lawyer contact them. Ended with him wishing me a blessed day.

same scam, I had him so confused he ended the call by saying he will come down and [***] my wife and mother in the name of allah  .....nice

People always want something for nothing. Try ed scaring my wife called while I was on the phone with an attorney friend of mine either from church patched him in to the call and gave these people a taste of there own medicine.  Hung up on us talking in a foreign language very aggressively. Hope these people get takin in to custody for there crimes

Same thing here, us treasury, legal action, blah blah blah. Do admit, I did have a little fun messing with him though before he got frustrated and told me that the cops are on their way. Got a good laugh, but most definitely a scam.

So they called me and told me they were from the Indiana Dept of Treasury .. I said that's weird because I work for them and I know that you are a scam.. they hung up...! I called back and said, "So are you really working for the Dept of the Treasury?" ... they hung up...hmmm. Should I call back and harass them one more time? Who do we call to make a formal complaint?

These people must think we are complete idiots. I heard about this scam from tv and radio stations. I'm tempted to call them and tell them I'm a police officer and they have been traced and officials will be coming to there address with a warrant for fraudulents. Scare the crap out of them.

They called about federal taxes and said I would be arrested within 6months.  Asked for name and ID number---got.

Wanted my card information

Jennifer Lincoln called said that she was a agent with dept of labor law enforcement and legal action was being taken against me. I need to return her call and have my lawyer present. I Google her name and information and found this this page. Found this to be a scam. There would be no reason that I would have dept of labor looking for me.

She has called twice saying she was law enforcement agent of dept of legal affairs of some unnamed agency! That legal action against me would occur.
