- Caller: Colorado Caller
- small business ownerReceived repeated messages at our office from "Leslie Harris" at this number this week, asking to speak to the "person responsible" about "federal tax issues." When I called back, the outbound machine message did NOT reflect that this was an IRS office, but DID ask for "business owner" to leave message on a certain extension, so I hung up immediately, concluding it was a scam. Later, my naive husband DID return the call, despite my telling him to ignore it, and reported that "Leslie" said she was calling about "delinquent payroll taxes" and claimed that a "lien of $6000" had been placed against our business. All of this is, on the face of it, TOTAL BS.
This is a debt collector acting illegally, because she lied, misrepresented herself totally and never stated that her call was related to an attempt to collect a debt. The company owning this phone number apparently bought a list of companies which the state of Florida claims owe fees lateness in filing state corporate tax returns ($150 penalty). This call was research to discover if company was still operating and other intelligence that could help in collecting.- Caller: (unknown, not stated)

- Ohio Resident replies to Dave Myers| 1 replyI have received 20-30 calls from this number too. 719-219-8429 saying she (leslie harris) was working with a group of licensed IRS agents to recover money owed from a "941 payroll withholding lien". She said she doesn't have any info other than the amount my company appearently owes "over $6,600" and that I need to call another 800 number to find out what it is regarding. When I spoke with her, she stated that she could help me reduce the amount I owed. I told her I did not owe money to the IRS or anyone else and would like more details at which point she gave me a number to the IRS 800-829-4933
I called and talked to the IRS for about an hour verifying what I already knew. I didn't owe any money!
They gave me this email address to report these kinds of scams: phishing@irs.gov
Maybe you should email them too.
Scammers should be taking to a firing line and shot in the head! Come on America, this is not what makes America great, grow up! - KBi also received a call from her saying she was calling about my company's taxes and it was critical that I return the call. Luckily, I always google a number I do not recognize so certainly will not return the call. same thing - Leslie Harris.

- AnnoyedI have also received several calls from 1-719-219-8429 , Leslie Harris, Poenix Group. I don't even have a company of my own and I repeatedly tell her that she has the wrong number. She has been calling me for over a year now every few months. Today, again, I took her information down before answering any of her questions. She seemed annoyed then said she would put me on the Do Not Call list. Ya, we'll see.
- Harraser| 1 replyGary has been calling asking to speak with the person in charge of paying federal taxes. Seriously? The IRS knows how to get in touch with me. This is a collector. I attempted to make a deal with the creditor years ago. No go. So I chose to pay my rent and feed my kids.
- Call type: Debt collector
- Tamianth replies to HarraserNo, its not a collector. Its a IRS Extortion Scam.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. - High AdobeI continue getting calls from this number and a Gary claiming he works with the IRS Phoenix group while he leaves numerous messages. I returned the a call to that number leaving a message to stop harassing the number he called and also sent a email asking for advise to phishing@irs.gov
- Caller: The Phoenix Group
- 7702877297Jeff Walker was the caller and he is a jerk! He gave all kinds of information to an employee that should have been considered private. When I called him to have our number removed, he became insulting and telling me that I was dealing with a professional company and we obviously have no business having a business. He continued to take cheap shots and all I wanted was him to take our name off the call list. He left his name and his direct line number with our employee then told me that I was a liar and that he had not done that and it was another company like his that left his name and number.
I think he is mean and arrogant. If he was my child, he would get a spanking and time out.- Caller: Jeff Walker/no company name given
- Call type: Debt collector
- Not AmusedCaller said his name was Jeff and he was from the IRS and needed me to return his call immediately about money I owed the IRS. Said it was in my best interest to return his call soon.
- James replies to Ohio ResidentI just received a call from that same number, from a Jeffery walker, he said he needed to speak with someone urgently about an IRS filing in July 20, 2015. Sounded very fishing! thanks for the heads up
- Tax AttorneyMy client got a call. She refused to talk to him, gave me his number and I called back.
Jeff Walker called my firm's office and told me a lien was filed against my client's property. He asked if I was her bankruptcy attorney or tax attorney. I said general. I asked him to fax me a copy of the lien. He said I should have it, and asked why I don't have it.
I told him that I don't have it because I think he is a scammer and unless I see the document he is referring to I don't think it exists. He then told me I was doing a lousy job for my client and hung up.
Too bad he hung up before I got the chance to tell him I am a retired IRS Attorney, and that any time I called a taxpayer I had to follow certain protocols he did not follow.
Cheers!- Call type: Debt collector
