called at 130pm. hung up after 4 rings. left no message, no caller id

Received phone call on 04 May 2016 @ 1526L. No message left.

called at 141pm. I answered a "john" wanted to paint our house, they were in my area. I asked if they were aware of the dnc lists. he said they were, but my number appeared to not be on the list , have you recently applied? I said weve been on the state and national register for thirteen years.  he said oh, maybe you need to renew. I said if youre going to run a business, you really should acquaint yourself with the regulations...

They are familiar with the DNC; they just ignore it.  Get calls every other day from people "who are in our neighborhood" and want to know if we need any work done.  If not, how about in 6 months?  We can give you a free estimate now!

Had a friend that got a call from this number because it showed up with my name in the caller ID. He called it back and found out that it was for a roofing company. I will be reporting them.

Called interrupting my landscape business, by the time I answered the call a man's voice said nobody's here and promptly hung up.  This wouldn't be a problem but I don't have time to answer the phone just to have a immature prank phone call even if they are a real business.  Doesn't the dnc list have to be renewed every five or six years for the national one, in Florida once your on the list your on until you remove yourself

Call on my landline phone around 11a.m. They left no message.

Did I want my house painted?  Hung up when I said No.  I wanted to ask who they were and get a name for my sister.  He didn't even give me time to ask.  But then thought how did he get my number under the DNC list.

If you ever posted your phone number on a social site, or used it when ordering online, or typed it in an insecure computer, or gave it to a friend whose computer was attacked, or filled out an entry form at a fair or a supermarket, or used it on a contest entry form, or put it on a postcard for a magazine or purchase, or were among those whose information was hacked from some organization, or obtained a "new" phone number ... your number is probably known to the scammers.

There, now you know all about how spammers can dial YOUR phone number, even if it is unlisted, and even if only relatives know it, and even if it is on or off the DNC list.

I hope that helps prove the DNC list DOES work!  It helps prevent calls from registered / legitimate telemarketers, but it is not able to stop calls from telespammers.  It is also NOT designed to stop political callers (who usually get the numbers from voter registration lists), calls from charities, or some other companies, such as debt collectors; or some companies with which you have done business in the last 18 months.

My voicemail picked up the call and there was a lot of muffled noises, like he was walking or something and some heavy breathing/panting and then he said "awe... I'm tired man, are you?"   Then it hung up.   I don't think they intentionally meant to leave a message.   Probably someone's cell phone, best way to get back is to start "returning" their calls at 3 AM!
