Caller with an extremely thick accent, claimed my company called theirs and they were returning the call.

However, when asked as to who had left them the message, the caller admitted that they hadn't received a message, and had dialed the number on their CID(Which they provided but was not a number associated with our company at all). I advised they had the wrong number but then they began to bull doze into an attempt to phish for the names for certain job titles.

While speaking with them, the reverse look up brought me to this:

Well I guess this is a new take on an old data mining/phishing ploy. Presuming they even represent the company since the caller refused to identify themselves.

BY the way when is 800Notes going to add phishing scam to their pull down menu???

This is a criminal organization that is using spoofed caller IDs from whatever city you live in, but they all seem to trace back to this NJ number.  They are phishing for identity theft. They called me first on a number in my own prefix in another state and tried to say they were solar power. When I told them off, they called back with another spoofed number in my state. I indulged myself in a string of profanity that led to a call from the NJ number. I told the guy I have a trap on my phone (to trace the call -- I do. You can get the police to do that for you if you get too many of these calls) and that I was keeping him on until they traced his location. He then tried to say -- get this -- he was calling from Planned Parenthood with the results of a test on my daughter. I don't have a daughter.  I kept him on the phone until the police told me they had enough.  These guys are identity thieves. If they bother you, call the police.

Confirming "Confused" post...this is DiverseLynx.  I received an email from them as well (with a recruiter name that suggested a link to the "extremely thick accent" which "Confused" mentioned.  I'm not really sure how that ties into the call that "Done with this" goes into detail about.  It almost sounds like they are speaking of another number.

Called today. Odd caller ID "LYNX LLC" made me think it might be spoofed so did not answer. Did not leave a message. Same phone number as in several recent emails for jobs everywhere but where I live.
Diverse Lynx, LLC is likely a valid recruiting company. Legitimate calls for potential jobs are wanted. However, getting emails and calls mostly for positions I am not able to try for.  Makes me wonder if sometimes primarily phishing for manager names or other people looking for work so they can contact them.
Not the only or worst recruiting company blasting emails and calling as many contacts as possible with insufficient up-front screening for relevance or duplication.

I have a system which asks callers to press one to put the call through. This usually eliminates a lot of these scam calls. So when my phone rang I figured this was a legit call. I answered it, but there was only music playing. While I was on that call seeing if anyone would come on the line, they called in again so I answered that call.

After about a minute of music playing, I hung up.

When will it ever end..... when the Telcom's have made/stolen enough?

It's a recruiter doofus.

They call me like 10xs claiming they got my resume from a database. I ask what database they dont answer. Then they offer a position for contract work offering INTERN $$. I said have you seen my resume? Guess not. I hang up. They call again with a different person then I get an email. IM SO SICK OF THIS FOOLISHNESS!

This is fake indian "recruiters". Just blacklist them.

It seems like a legitimate recruiter being run like a boiler room.  This has become par for the course.  I avoid these guys as they tend to do things that can get you blacklisted from a job.  For example if two recruiters submit your resume on the same job, you will be removed from consideration.  This becomes an issue when recruiters become aggressive.  Their jobs are usually crappy ones anyway.

From that number, I received numerous calls from and I do not answer.
