- jlkThis guy called several times and would not speak to my husband. He (Brian) called again last night and this time told me he wanted to remind me of a $35. pledge I had made for the fight on terriorism. That they were calling back all of the people who did not send their pledges and asking them to now do it by credit card.
I told him that I never pledge $35 because I can't afford it. He told me they have it written down and have a recording of me saying so. I said I still did not believe I would say that but that my husband was out of work and I couldn't do it. Also told him that quite frankly this conversation was becoming quite embarrasing for me. He says "I spoke to 79 people in the last few hours who "say" they are having a hard time too, but they managed to give the minimum of $15". Kept pushing for me to give him a credit card number, so I told him I didn't have one.
When my husband heard what I was going through he started screaming for me to hang up, how dare he harrass us for money we don't have. I knew something was not right about this.
This guy whoever he is is very obnoxious and pushy. Be careful of this one!!- Caller: New Liberty Prop

- cubalzCalled on a Saturday, asked for me by first & last name. Said this was the American Cancer Institute and that I had an unpaid pledge that they wanted to close out. Since I had made a pledge months ago but paid it as promised, I told him I was sure that I had already made that payment. He assured me that it was outstanding on their records and asked for a credit card number. I emphatically told him that there was NO WAY I was providing a CC#, he politely informed me that I could do a "pay be check over the phone" as well. When I insisted that he provide Am. Cancer Reseach website for payment, he hung up. OBVIOUS scammer!

- NewLiberty replies to HairemSeveral points... New Liberty is a fundraising organization retained by several non-profits. One of which is The Police Chiefs Coalition of New Jersey, not the NJ Police Chiefs Assoc. It is true that the police never solicit donations on the phone, that practice is illegal. That is why the organizations hire professional fundraisers.
Now, making a false promise to donate, just to receive a pledge packet is bad for several reasons. Foremost, it takes money away from the campaign that could have been used to actually help out. In the case of the Police Chiefs Coalition of NJ, they sponsor a program called Operation Pedophile, which helps keep children in NJ safe from sex predators. In addition, you actually increase the likelyhood and frequency of solicitation calls for fundraising programs.
The best course of action if you don't wish to support these programs, or receive such calls is to directly and politely inform the agent who contacts you.
Fundraising calls are not restricted in the same manner as sales calls, the federal government has deemed these calls too important. Also, the dialing systems used by most telemarketing companies are set to call a phone number until a contact occurs. Hiding behind your caller id or answering machine will not stop attempts to contact you. Just pick up, say no thank you, and "remove me from your list."
I hope this is helpful. - Former Telemarketer| 1 replyI used to work at New Liberty Promotions. It was a poorly run outfit in the basement of a realty building on Brick Blvd in Brick, NJ. Idiot bosses, including Bill Smock, Guano, and Kevin (now a gas station worker, I think). The owner was an arrogant [***] named Glenn.
We would have to work at 8 AM on Easter Sunday. I did enjoy the pointlessness of it all. Eventually you don't care when the people yell at you. It doesn't matter if you get fired. And recreational drug use in the parking lot was the norm. Funny employees, lots of laughs. Complete lack of morals. But, when you're broke and 17 it's not a bad gig. I remember I got a $500 donation once by smart-mouthing a really rich guy in Manhattan.
But as far as I know, the "organizations" that we represented only received a very small percentage of the proceeds.- Caller: New Liberty Promotions

- flush the cash replies to New Liberty Properties| 2 repliesLOL I prefer to just flush my money down the toilet, that way at least I know where it went.
- New Liberty Properties replies to flush the cash| 1 replyYour statement is just plain stupid. Do not flush the cash. Just give it to us because a percentage goes to the causes we sponsor. Are you an American or a Communist?
- New Liberty Properties replies to Former TelemarketerYou sound like that slacker with the foul-smelling rear-end that we used to call Sponge-Bob Smear-Pants. You were fired for due cause and your libel here will be legally pursued against you very aggressively. You wrote just enough to fully identify yourself.
- reality replies to New Liberty PropertiesThe people on this board who aren't the scammers know exactly what he means. What are you, a red-blooded American SCAMMER or a COMMUNIST SCAMMER or nothing more a run-of-the-mill crook.
- badgefraud.orgCome on you fake con man, say some more, you open your mouth one more time and it will be the last time you do in the name of a charity. We go after the charities you work for and we will end them to end you. So keep running your mouth.

But we would love for you to give it a shot so we have a reason to put you all in prison.
Do your job legally or go to prison or get sued by the Attorney General, PICK ONE!
Bad news Gentelmen the calls you have made into North Carolina are Felonies, arrest warrents are imminant for all of you phone jockey's that made the calls. All the cops have to do it match the time date stamp to the IP address and presto, you have a victim. 5 victems you have 5 felonies.
Then to find the caller, they just have to see who uses what phone number to call from, one thing leads to another and you are in handcuffs being extradited to North Carolina. because you see, it is not 1 charge of 14-100 it would be 5 separate charges. One charge for every call. and guess what, you do not even need to have them give you the money all you have to do to be charged is to call and try to get it. For every call you make your going to get a charge in North Carolina. Each charge carries a ten year prison sentence. That is ten years for every call. Think how many calls you have made to North Carolina, that is how many charges you are each going to get that made the calls. So ask yourself, do you want to continue working in a place that is about to put you in prison.
