- Stacey Waugh| 1 replySaid was a call from National Liberty Warranty services. I asked to speak to supervisor and was denied. I asked a second time and stated to the caller that she was being rude and she proceeded to call me a [***] and then hung up. When trying to call the number back or searching on the web, neither was successful.

- mike| 6 repliesHI used to work for this company. Let me tell you about it. There are many owners. Dana Gravante, Robert Gravante, John Gravante, Amanda Gravante, Erica Smith, Brian Conte, and Jerri (can't remember her last name). They all used to work for a company in Brick NJ called National Protection Services. The way this company works is they buy the cheapest leads. Usually ones that have been sold to other telemarketing companies, so the people #1 kept getting called #2 didn't even need the service. They don't comply with the DNC registry because we were instructed to just put those calls to re dial at a later time. I'm sure you heard something like "Hello Soandso. My name is Earl and I'm calling from the warranty division (when asked warranty division of what we told to say that we just a cancellation department for all makes). Our records indicate that your vehicle has under 150,000 miles and your warranty has expired. In order to get you back in coverage can you please tell me how many miles approximately are on your vehicle. Ok great. And are you still residing at 31 Main St in Toms River NJ (this is their address)? Wonderful and for verification purposes can you please state the make and model of your vehicle (half the time we didn't even have that)? Ok I have some good news for you we can get you back into coverage(which was bs you needed to have the policy for 30days before it was active). This coverage includes headlight fluid, muffler bearings, and widgets." This policy was ok if you took your car to the mechanic and never even opened your hood since you needed to have records for all work done on your car. Add wiper fluid void the warranty. Change a fuse void the warranty. Wash your car void the warranty! If I were even considering one I definately wouldn't buy off a telemarketer and certinaly not off a company that has no web site or will send information in the mail.
They are just bad news. Bad business people and bad employers. They hold your final pay for months then claim like they didn't know it was due! They own quite a few numbers other then the one listed. I will look in my papers and see if I still have them. Hope this is helpfu- Call type: Telemarketer
- employ replies to mike| 3 repliesall the information mike has provided is incorrect. he worked there for a short time, and during that time i was employed there. he was terminated for non production and poor attendance. the coverage provided is standard warranty coverage as sold by all telemarketing companies. the stipulations mike stated do not exist and we were often written up or suspended if we did not remove dnc people from our lists. apparantly mike did not listen or follow directions well and did not become familiar with the coverage we were selling. that maybe the reason he was terminated. i recently moved and could not make the commute back and forth to toms river. that is the only reason i left the company and have never had a problem with them or their sales tactics. it sounds to me like mike is upset because he lost his job! (which he apparantly did not know how to do.
- mike| 3 repliesAm I lying? I left your sham company because your leads were terrible. Every night the people would tell us "you just called 10 minutes ago". Not only that the data was so out dated if it was even there.Who in their right mind would of bought a warranty when we knew nothing but their name and address? You didn't want to spend any money. How many times did the auto dialer go down? How often did all 8 terminals work at once? You guys didn't want to spend the money. We were busting our ass while you were putzing around on myspace! Especially when only one or two people were making calls for the entire shift. Yes I realize that you're the owner/partner but a little help would of been nice. I work for a real telemarketing place that has real equipment, real scripts, real leads, and I'm making more in commish in one night than an entire week base at your dump. For real why did someone have to run outside to get one of you when they had a t/o?
- ex employ replies to mikeagain i just worked there while you did. everyone else did ok there. no problems, good pay.
- Justice X replies to employ| 1 replyEmploy is towing the company line - beware any warranty company that calls you or send direct mailers - they will not honor your claims, will lie to you, and will not process a refund if you've already purchased one of these worthless warranties. My advice, start an automobile savings account - you're much better off.
- Justice X replies to Justice XOh, and they do violate the DNC right & left.
- Justice X replies to mikeMike, the consumers out there validate your story. Steer clear of extended warranty companies!
- Margie replies to mikeMike....I am trying to cancel the warranty for an 83 year old man. I've called twice and been told that they would fax the form for cancellation, but so far have not received the form. When I call (800-839-7940)I get put on hold and no one ever answers. The agent, John Gravante, whom you mention in your post, number is no longer valid. How do I cancel this for him? A sum of $666.33 was deducted on 12/17/08, and then $66.63 every month since. I know he has been scammed. What should he do??
- truthfulcandyO i remember him i worked there for about 6 months on the night shift & adored my supervisor she was always helpful & even went out of her way to pick me up when i didn't have a ride to work, never had a problem & was always told not to say what mike is stating.I now work at the new & improved company with 2 of them & couldn't be happier. Theres always going to be a disgruntled employee when the employee does drugs & was always late for work if he even showed up..
- GinaI received a call stating I was being called because I have a vehicle that has under 75,000 miles and no warranty. I am on the DNC list and have been for years and all of a sudden out of the blue I get a telemarketing call from this company, identified as National Protection Service, which is the parent company for Motor Vehicle Protection Corp. When asked how they got my name, they told me it was "computer generated". I work for a call center therefore, I know how this works and unless someone inquires, especially when on the DNC list, these companies are not allowed to call you. It is a federal law!! I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was put on hold then conveniently hung up on. I was furious. I then called back and was told that people make mistakes and somehow the company received my name in regards to car warranties, which again, is a lie because I have a leased vehicle. When I informed the person on the phone, he stated "oh. we do not offer service for leased vehicles". No sh&^!!!I am going to the next level and reporting this company to the attorney general's office for the state of NJ. They try to play the dumb act, like they don't know they are doing something wrong. They know damn well.

- Joe replies to mikeWhy would we listen to a drug addict like you?[***].
- Joe replies to mikeI worked for them they were very good to me.What happened you ran out of funds for your habit and had to bash someone.I know for a fact your full of [***].
- IanThis letter is to inform Warranty Division, that I, no longer want to be apart of your services. Due to the fact, of lack of explanation regarding what is and is not covered in the extended warranty. Therefore your services were nothing of what I was expecting or what I needed to be covered, in other words it is useless to myself. Also I request to have my deposit and first payments that I made to your company returned back to myself. This is a decision that I already went through and made clear and there will not be any change of opinion.

- Steve (former professional telemarketer) replies to employI've worked for too many companies that perform the same shenanigans as mentioned by Mike. If he is lying, as you say, therefore implying you are being honest, then why the username, "Employ", rather than your real name? I suspect that you meant to spell it "Employee" anyway, and just failed to utilize your spell check software program.
I hated working for these fly-by-night type telemarketing firms and only did it for the cash and being one of the best (thereby earning 6-8 thousand per month), it was tempting to remain, however...after feeling dirtier than a Mafioso for many years, I needed a hot bath. So O left the industry for much lower pay. More importantly, I felt much better about my soul...and for a non-religious sort such as myself, that's saying something! - JoeyI too worked for the company. The majority of the people working there were nice, i.e. people who were there for a long time, most management and anyone you may have known prior to employment. Most of what Mike has said is spot on. As far as the cold calling, there wasn't any information other than a phone number, unless someone in the other room happened to ruse some information out of the person the other day or possibly even just an hour or 2 before the number was routed to your station. And as far as the pay, if you did your job good enough without being rude, misleading or going too far off script you could make some good money between hourly pay and commissions. But when it came to commission, it was nice to see it actually payed to you....until the next few weeks to a month later when it was deducted from your next commission check claiming the customer cancelled.RIGHT! SURE. The thing I found funniest, was they had people come in time to time and explain "how the coverage works and what it DOES cover". And then the truly honest managers would tell you that its as useful as an invisible pair of designer pants. So I can confirm only some of the things Mike said, but if you really need a warranty you better get a brand new leased or financed vehicle because they come with a warranty that HAS to be honored by the dealership. Any other warranty is subject to interpretation. I was on the day shift for only a short few months, then there was a high volume of layoffs, including management and people who had given years and years of service making the filthy owners filthy rich....and that's how they repaid them for all their hard work. Lay off the ones making more money, no matter what their personal or financial situation may be. So that they could splurge on themselves a little more than usual. It was a few years ago that I worked for the company. So I can't really say how the company runs now, but then again, if its any of the same owners I doubt much has changed...because like Mike said, they weren't known for spending their own money OR the companies money for that matter.
