Almost every day a call from this number! I am on the national do not call list, it doesn't seem to work like its supposed too. They literally call at all hours, but never leave a message on the answering machine.

On my caller Id it says National Protection and they never leave a message they just keep calling at times of the day, I don't bother to speak to them but it would be nice for these unwanted calls to stop.  I will not call any number for them to stop because I did that once and the next thing I knew I got calls from several unwanted callers.  So they will either get tired of calling and getting no response or they will be found out and stop doing what ever they are up to doing by calling.

Doesn't leave message and hangs up when I answer. I'm guessing it is fraud.

    Telemarketer victim
Scumbag telemarketers preying on gullible or cognitively impaired victims. The premise is extended car warranties. Rude and belligerent caller insisted that I wasn't on the do not call list. I informed her that cell phones are automatically included in the do not call list without the need to register. I requested that my number be included in their do not call list. We'll see it that works.

We have gotten on their list too.  They've called several times, ringing 4 times and then hanging up.without leaving a message.  I never realized how many car warranty companies there are.  They all seem to want my business (which they will never get).

May you and your family be cursed and vengeance taken on you for the foul statement you made.  You know what you are doing is wrong.  Pray that this curse be lifted from you by apologizing to each person you have harmed.

Two times every day for the last four days.  I never answer, having read these pages, but it IS very annoying.  They call both on my cell phone and my landline.

Well the woman that contacted me called me an idiot and hung up when I asked her which car she was talking about. I'm glad this person cussed them out.

If it's an insurance scam calling, it is likely you had an XM RADIO subscription in the past. I traced it back there in this case. I use a slightly different identity each time I sign up for something so that I can trace the propogation route of my information. It began around a year after I canceled my subscription with XM. I guess they give it time to then sell your information in a bulk dump into the spam/scam market.

I have received a call from this number every day for the last several days. I haven't answered, and they never leave a message.

Multiple calls and hang ups per day, usually in groups of several calls.  So assuming they use autocaller with multiple made up numbers.  Dumb scammers.  I also do the hard of hearing, Asian accented man act.  I keep telling them I need to 'find my daughter who speaks English so she can translate.'  Their natural scam market is older folks so they stay on the line for a long time before getting frustrated and hanging up.

Rang twice, hung up before I could answer.  I don't remember them calling before, but I had them saved under the "do not answer" contact on my phone.

Most businesses that have a 1-800 or similar number, generally pay a flat monthly fee regardless of how many calls or the duration of those calls. I applaud your efforts though. Fighting back is the only way to combat these creeps! I report them to the Better Business Bureau.

I received a call this afternoon. My machine picked up, no message was left, but these people are working with old technology that does not actually hang up the moment they hang up. It could be the autodialer. I do not care what piece of dung they are using, I ignore them once the number is not known and if no message that makes sense to me is left. I track multiple offenders add them to the phone or provider block if they persist,

The 5 Simple Do Nots for Scam/Spam Calls Response
    1) Do Not expect the Do Not Call list to work with this scum. They operate outside the law. Making the task more difficult, the scammers have likely spoofed the number they used. Our winning at whack-a-mole is easier than tracking this class of vermin.
    2) Do Not answer the phone if you do not recognize the number. Screening via an answering machine is advisable.
    3) Do Not try wasting the call center's time by keeping your scammer from calling others. The chatter you hear in the background is likely other scammers catching others unaware. Your interference means nothing to them in the long run. As a result, your number will probably be sold to other scammers as "live". Your ten minutes of fun could actually lead to more calls.
    4) Do Not follow the instructions given to remove your number from their caller list. Your number is only verified as "live" to be sold to other scammers.
    5) Do Not forget the elderly. Concerned sons and daughters of elderly parents should help set up or give them a phone system that includes caller ID, call screening and call blocking. Periodic help may be required to populate the call block list on the phone or through the service provider.

If everyone would ignore them, they would go away and look for other ways to cheat people out of their money.
