No name given, just "Lakehurst, NJ." No message. I am on the Do not Call list.

I'm a freelancer and was busy, deep into concentration, when the phone rang. I jumped out of my seat. This is so disruptive.

Called at 7:02 PM Caller ID said Lakehurst NJ. We do not pick up if we do not know.

I just got a call like this from Lakehurst, NJ. The male voice asked for Mr. _________ (the correct last name). There is no Mr. ________ in this house. I told the voice that 'he' was unavailable. I am wondering what the voice is trying to sell (am on the Do Not Call List - wish the politicos and charities were as well...) or if he is trying to harass me? I am 30 seconds away from calling him back.

Well, I did it. I called them back on my cell phone. The voice on the other end was female and said they were the Children's Cancer Research organization/Foundation/Asociation or something like that. so you know that this number from Lakehurst NJ is a charity.
