Debt collector representative Tonya J Parker, Tonya Brown, Tonya Ruple. Will not provide details of the debt in question. Ie, date. Will not allow for questions.

Refusing to give company information is a violation of the FDCPA.   It is also illegal to claim to be an attorney.

"Tonya Brown" left a message, wanting to talk to me about a "business matter", earlier today.

Glad I checked here, so I know not to waste my time in calling this person back.

This woman has called me multiple times regarding "a business matter". I haven't had any business with anyone in the 734 area code in 10 years.

If you read the above comments, you can see this is a debt collector most likely one that buys up old debts for pennies on the dollar and tries to bully people to pay knowing full well they cannot properly validate the debt as required by the FDCPA.

I was paying them every month,  cuz they said I owed money.  Then she called me several months ago saying about paying it off and she could make me a deal.  Being the last payment. Well it's been several months and I just got a call,  I missed the call and I called back,  it rang and rang then somebody picked up the fone and wouldn't say anything.  I don't know if they bought another debt,  or if they are guna try and scam me again for the other one

A Tanya Brown called me saying if I give her my credit card information she can pay off a medical debt that I have but she couldn't tell me what the debt was for or from whom.  Well sorry I am not giving you any information unless you can provide me the information regarding the debt.

Tonya Brown called and gave no company info or any info other than her name and phone number. Called back and got a recording informing this the call was for debt collection. Since i have no debts to be collected i hung up before a person answered and checked here.

Blowing up my phone for a debt of $5.11.  Stating that they are located in the 5/3 building in downtown Toledo, Ohio.  Also said her name was Tonya Brown.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I have no debts in Michigan and all my other debts were settled as verified by an attorney.

If you mean that you declared bankruptcy, then attempting to collect a debt discharged is also illegal.

Voicemail left saying to call regarding important business matter but no further details. Sounded almost automated.

Debt collector SCAM.  Beware....   I do not owe anyone, but they want to collect a debt, they want personal information, which is everything they should have to call.  Random Calls looking for a stupid person to give them information.

I just got the same call. Not calling Tonya Brown back. She did not leave any information
