They call me everyday, getting tired of it. Didn't get the chance to tell them not to call this was automated... Dang it

The problem with these numbers are that not being legitimate they don't care about the do not call list. I added a comment to my reject list that says F - off. Maybe that will stop them.

I received a call from this number on my cellphone although my phone number is registered on the "Do Not Call" list.
Grrr.... anyway, my cell has a handy dandy "reject list" that this number was quickly added to!

Called me, I didn't answer, they didn't leave a message.  I agree scam, when google the number it says it belongs to a Lowe's store in Marietta, OH

Nothing in life is free.  Do people really fall for this? "Gifts, gifts, gifts"?  What a bunch of Internet tragedy telemarketing blah blah waste of time and energy.

Just stop, already.  

Beware, people. These are trolls using old telephone technology.  Thank you to all the people who take a minute to report this number and warn others. You are to be congratulated for caring.

If you don't know the number calling, or it is not in your call list. DO NOT PICK UP !!!!!!!!!
If it is a real call, they will leave a message, and these scammer outfits do not leave a message.
If you do pick up, that tells them that your number is a good working number and you can be SURE to receive more attempts.
Don't know the number folks, then please, please, don't pick up........

I also have gotten several calls from this number.  I work for Walmart and this is a scam.  If  you want to verify this call 1-800 walmart [1-800-925-6278]  This is the corporate office in Bentonville Arkansas.  Let them know the caller is claiming to be Walmart and give them the number [ 740-236-1071]- Walmart will hunt them down!!!~

This number rang my cell.  I was expecting a call from another party and grabbed the phone wrong and rejected the call.  When I saw it was the call I was expecting I decided to try to find out who had called as I didn't recognize the number.  Found this web site and glad I did.  I will be rejecting calls from this number from now on.

Just received a call from this number. Went along with it until they asked for my CC number. Immediately hung up the phone! Smells like a scam to me!

I just got a call from this number and when I answered there was a pre-recorded message that said "thank you for calling"  like I called them!!??? WTF??? then it said "If you would like to speak with a representative please press 1 so I did.  A woman with a foreign accent answered and proceeded to try to sell me one of these Walmart gift cards.   I went off on her

Just got a call from 740-236-1071.  They did not leave a message.  I do not answer calls that block their name.  

I hear now if you push any number on your phone you may be charged a fee. $19.95 the news said. So when you get anymore call like that don't push buttons. I received the same thing you did and did not even give the recording time to get past the word calling. Had another the morning before with a heavy Indian accent saying they were from the technical department. OK good for you ,and I hung up. Have you advertised on Craigslist?? I think that's were they got my number or maybe it's just computer random.

1st time getting this number. Says Ohio. Did not answer. No message left.

I reported them to the FTC. Just go on the Do Not Call Registry and file a complaint. Its amazing how the FTC stops it!!! ;)

This time they left a message and it was the Walmart gift card thing.  But while the robo was "robo -ing, the phone number 740 236 1071.  What is the long number?  get it quite a bit.

Thanks everyone for alerting us to another scammer! Adding to DO NOT ANSWER contact in my iphone & blocking it too. As of now that's all we can do.

Just got off the phone.  Called this number back, after a missed call.  $100 Walmart card for me as I have bought "from one of their major retail customers in the last 6 months."  Go figure.  The card will be sent to my address along with some information about discount coupons that I can use for other purchases.  If I use them, fine.  If I choose not to - that is OK.  Only catch is the $2.95 handling charge.  "How would you like to take care of the handling charge - with a debit card or a credit card?"  I told him the cost of mailing was $.50 and I wouldn't give out that information.  He tried 2 more times, and then thank you for your interest and hung up.  Jerks.

What's interesting about these types of random calls is that they will use the number for one scam and then about 6 months later they will call about something else. These are fake numbers and I can bet you that they are not actually calling from Ohio.

Don't be disappointed if you miss a call from this number.  They are calling to tell you that you won a fabulous gift, but by the time the call is over, they will ask for your credit card number so that they can expedite your gift to you.  Yeah, right.  Gifts don't need credit card numbers -- don't fall for this scam.  Just hang up and go about your business.  Block the number, if your carrier offers that feature.
