I have received three calls from someone who claims to be Alex Ferguson. He says he is with the US Treasury and I need to contact him regarding enforcement actions that are being ignored.

I too have gotten this call and I simply ignore it. The IRS won't contact you this way!

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.   Block and ignore.   DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

We got a few calls from someone with a very strong accent, probably Hindu or Pakistani, claiming to be representing the US National Treasury, and to contact them regarding Judicial orders!

Kept calling my number and left message in a theaten voice.  Voice mail claimed to be from US treasury, and the Indian accent voice said that if I don't call back, a judge will issue a warrant arrest.

I hope that the law enforcement will catch these crook scammers.

Getting several complaints about the number and that they are threatening to send the sheriff to arrest them for back taxes if they don't pay $5000.  Just go to Western Union, blah, blah, blah.

I received 7 phone calls from   Alex Fugerson  740-692-7480 yesterday demanding payment of money as well.

I received a call just like this from that same number and message 11:51am today. I appreciated the other comments regarding the IRS and have passed it along. I live in a large retirement community and some may find the message unsettling so we will try and get the word out.

I actually called "Mr. Ferguson" back because I wanted to screw around with him and he sure didn't like it ;   )
I enjoyed the call.. he of course hung up.

obvious a scam when they caller doesn't even know enough to wait until the answering machine beeps before they start talking.   Didn't get a name recorded, just that he would help me get rid of a warrant.

I got a call from the same guy, the voice quality was terrible as though the IRS is in a third world country.
Anyway, I got this idea for payback.
The next time I'm online and get offers for surveys, or some website asking for my phone number, or any application asking for my phone number, or any salesman wanting get in-touch with me, guess what phone number I'll be giving out?

Threatening call from Alex Fergusson claiming I should call to clear up a legal matter with the U.S. Treasury. If I don't call back, I'm committing a federal offense.

I got 4 calls today from this Alex Ferguson with the same message, claiming to be U.S. Treasury etc…….Very annoying.
Also one call from 260 201 2442 claiming to be IRS!!!!!

I got three calls from Alex Fergeson today, Hahaha interesting name for a guy with an Indian accent. I actually got a call last week from him and called him back. I called him an low life predator he hung up on me and when I called back the line rang then went busy. I thought I had gotten rid of him but alas no he called back this week.
Finally used the *60 call blocking on my Att land line and hopefully that is the end of this low life. I love the idea of giving out his number hahaha.

Can't you tell it's a scam because 1. the IRS doesn't contact people that way, and 2. he has such a thick East Indian/Pakistani accent he couldn't possibly be given the job of calling people about such an important matter. These types of calls have been in the news.

Reading these comment will prepare me when he calls back.  I did  answer. Hello, if this is a scam or a telemarketer. You know the routine, GFTYS. Irs will not  contact you except register mail. We know that. I am going to do what NDJ. Except I am going to answer it. US Treasury.

I have received the same robo call twice today from 'Alex Ferguson' about Enforcement actions executed by the US Treasury and it says to call 740 692 7480 immediately.  I've gotten something similar before, maybe even the same one, I don't know. I'd like the calls stopped if someone know how to?
