Google all blocking devices. Many are around $40.00.  Amazon and Ebay, and some of the local stores are carrying them now also.

I got 2 calls from the number above today. The guy left 1 voice msg demanding money.
This is a scam! Ignore it.

called over and over today.... at least 10 times. what a genuine low life. wow.

Tax evasion scam recording telling me to call 740-692-7480

Same stupid scam creepy man with thick garlicky Indian accent trying to leave message about a tax lien or other made up stuff.  If I didn't answer or give info I would have a federal agent at my door. Yeah right!    I hope the guy walks out of his pathetic little room and steps on an IED!  Scum of the earth they need to be stopped!

"Alex Ferguson" has called me 3 times in the last 1 1/2 hours.  I picked up on the 3rd call and didn't wait for them to speak just said that I know it is a scam, to stop calling me and will try to get them arrested if they call again.  I wish the US government could stop these scam artist from harassing us.

I received several calls today from this number.  Normally I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, but I have relatives in this area code, so I picked up.  "Alex Ferguson" with a heavy Indian accent said he was with the U.S. Treasury and started his spiel.  I am aware of the IRS scams, so I said, "Knock it off!" and hung up.  A while later the phone rang again. I didn't answer and it went to voice mail.  There were several repetitions of Alex Ferguson's spiel.  I called back.  Now his name was "Alan Johnson".  He said there was a warrant out for my arrest for unpaid taxes.  I said I paid my taxes.  He said it was for 2012.  I said I don't owe any back taxes.  He reiterated that there was a warrant out for my arrest, and they would put liens against my property and suspend my driver's license.  He said if I didn't respond immediately, they would send the cop to execute the warrant.  I replied, "Send the cop!"

I get calls from different names all with the same message, my name is blablabla calling from the us justice dept and i have back taxes and the sheriff will be here in 5 min to arrest me....etcetc. Still waiting for the sheriff.....

Same as all the rest threatens legal action because he is from the U.S. Treasury his name is Alex Ferguson with heavy Indian-Pakistani accent  Real tired of this !

3rd call today from Alex. Still waiting for the sheriff to come get me as he threatened. The DNC registry is a huge joke and these [***] know that not a dam thing will happen, this guy uses at least 5 different numbers...sure wish i could find his [***] and take care of business myself.

I think the best individual protection is to block calls from these numbers.  Please see the instructions on how to block calls from specific numbers (assuming your phone company offers this feature).  I have been receiving these scam calls from about 3 numbers and have been able to successfully block them using the *60 feature.  This features also allows you to block the last call received by your phone, etc without you even having to enter the phone numbers.

My mother got two calls from these guys, and it's freaking her out.  She's 90 years old, lives alone, and has some psychological issues that make her more vulnerable and causes her more anxiety.

I have repeatedly been getting calls from this number although I blocked it after the first call.  In order to try and get some action I am now having those calls forwarded directly to the Treasury phone number.  Maybe they will understand the problem and get some resolution. Seemed like a good use of Exclusive Call Forwarding feature of ATT U-Verse.

If she is taking medications, some of those also cause changes in a person's thinking processes.

Do not forward any phone calls because the Treasury will get the call with your ANI (Automatic Number Identification) on it, not the ANI of the scammer. This makes you appear to be the cause of the problem, not the real crooks.

Another option is a call blocker device. I purchased one last year and have blocked individual numbers as well as area codes. Best $60 I ever spent. Once a call is blocked, it no longer rings in my home. What amazes me is that there are three so-called charities, who despite being blocked, continue to try and call. They can call all they want, they will continue to be blocked.
