- BethWe received calls from this number twice today; one at 6:00 p.m. And again at 7:30 p.m. My husband ignored the first call but answered the second one. The person on the other end of the line said, "Hi, this is Joe from Family Protection". My husband hung up and we blocked the number.

- Punk Them GONEThis was "Amanda", a very friendly-sounding robot from "Home Protection", who, when I expressed interest in a home security system, passed me on to a human operator. I let him go on for about 10 minutes, asking questions and playing along, before he got suspicious of the bogus name I gave and hung up - DAMN, one got away! These security folks are GREAT to punk, because you can actually cost them lots of time and money by getting them to come to your house to install a security system. I hope they call back - next time I'll give the correct name and address (they have it already from the phone directory...), and when they come I'll have a camera (for a video record), my 'weed-cutting' machete (to make sure they keep their temper in check) and a copy of the strictures of the National Do-Not-Call Registry to give to their boss (apparently He/She doesn't quite understand how the LAW works). C'mon, folks - PLEASE call back!

- JHM| 1 replyI have received over 18 robo-calls from this number since I last posted.
This is a HUGE scam operation. The number that shows up on your caller ID is a FAKE. These scammers are making money by robo-calling all over the USA and then transferring those calls that show interest in the product to related companies that have been set up regionally around the US. So their "installers" are moving around the US as they run through areas making these robo-calls.
They will NEVER give you any real contact info or company info - just a toll free number to their "customer service" department. Which will stop working as soon as they finish up taking any money they can get in that area.
Their "monitoring" service they offer is more than TRIPLE what local companies in our are charge - and these scammers tie you to a 36 month contract that you cannot cancel without having to pay them for the entire obligation.
I could not get any info from these scammers when I questioned them as to whether they were licensed in our state - they gave me a bogus "License Number" that didn't check out with anyone.
ONLY do security with companies that are REAL, Licensed, Insured and local - these monkeys are NOT a real business - just a scammer taking the money.
How could you even get service? They don't have an address, a working phone number or even a legitimate company name that they will give out.- Caller: Alarm Scam

- JHM replies to mikeFirst RED FLAG of a scam call!!
- Tamianth replies to JHMConsider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.
