- Kimberly| 2 repliesAh, the joys of getting older and approaching Medicare age. Every sales person, legitimate or not, comes out of the woodwork to "sign you up." I get, on average, 8 calls a day from these people trying to push their program about Medicare down my throat. I plan on doing my own Medicare supplement research, and choosing a plan that I want. Hearing the phone ring incessantly has gotten on my nerves so much, that I've turned off all the ringers on the phone, and left the answering machine on to take messages. I check the machine several times a day as I walk past it to see if anyone has left a message. Usually these scumbags don't leave a message because it is a robo-call and if no one answers the call won't be routed to a live person (the calling computer's program can in some way "tell" if it is a real person speaking or a machine). Of course, if I recognize the number, I'll call the person right back. It's the only way I can get any peace and quiet and not hear the phone ring incessantly!

- grammy| 1 replyYeah, I'm pushing 65, and I am getting an average of 12 calls a day, "from" every state imaginable ! I do not answer any, and most of them have no comments on 800 notes, so it was nice to read this one, because the litebulb went on over my head: of course! Medicare! My problem is there are very few repeats--I will block the repeats immediately, but most numbers are only one-timers, as they have the power to change each time. Sigh. Mine blocked ones are "no-rings", but the new ones ring away!

- BigA replies to grammyI hope you left a post at all those numbers so that others would know what the call was. Those calls are all illegal as per Medicare regulations.

- Peter replies to KimberlyNice post! I agree, except I think it would be a shame to miss a call from someone you like, eg, family. Instead of turning off ringer all the way, I leave mine on "low" and program phone (ie "whitelist") to play familiar sound when my family calls.
- De replies to Kimberlyyou are wise not to answer that call. Medicare will never ever ever call your home to try to sign you up.
- Irish MikeSince this call came from Fla.(the source of many Medi-Care scams) I answered it, Yep! They asked to speak to my wife. I asked concerning what? As soon as the word Medi-Care came out of her mouth i said she's not interested and hung up.
- Caller: Scam
- SamAT&T caller id says Suspected Spam. Undoubtedly another Medicare supplement scammer. Blocked for what good that does. I've already reported T65 Healthcare from Boca Raton Fl to the FCC and our state attorney general. They actually answer the number they call you with. And they haven't ceased calling. Hope to see them in court and garner a payment for defying the do not call list.
