"VIRGINIA CALL" on CID. Didn't answer; left no message. Seems like a lot of scam calls are coming out of the 757 area code. Though number could be spoofed too.

Just called, didn't answer, no message...came out of Portsmouth....ill answer next time and keep y'all posted

Got a call this evening. Recording saying I could win a trip to Orlando. Spam

This appears to be the current scam going on where they record your "yes" when they ask if you can hear them. I answered this call and heard, "Hi! This is Josh from Customer Service ... [slight pause] ... Can you hear me okay??". I hung up. Voice was friendly & up-beat & very disarming to the point that it almost fooled me into automatically answering him. I guess this scam alert is for real!

Same scenario as VABeach resident. Answered and heard "Hi! This is Josh from Customer Service ... [slight pause] ... Can you hear me okay?" I just stayed silent and then the automation continued by saying I was eligible for something. I just hung up without ever speaking a word.

Same as the 2 above me. I always say if they ask can you hear me ok...No I'm having trouble. And they adjust something and ask if it's better...and I say that's better! The word YES is out of my vocab on those kinda calls.

My cell number is listed on the do not call list but, still getting calls like this.

Be careful with these type of calls.  They can record your 'Yes' response to the 'can you hear me' and put it into another call selling you something and you responding with 'Yes'.  Then they file a suit saving you never paid.

Received a call from this number this morning and am sure this is a scam.  It was a recording saying it was "Allison from the warranty department. Can you hear me ok?".  After seeing multiple reports of a scam (http://wtop.com/consumer-news/2017/01/potential-phone-scam-preys-say-yes/), I did not say anything and immediately hung up.

"Virginia call" just now. I didn't even bother answering it. I figured it was someone looking for money.

Received this unknown call from Virginia. Sounds like a scam according to others on here.
