Over the last couple of years I have a policy of always blocking calls that have an out of state area code and do not tell me who is calling. Got a call from them at nine in the morning, did not answer, call blocked immediately.

I too received a phone call from this number saying "Hello, how are you today? I am calling you from WINDOWS.  His accent was foreign and I immediately told him he was a fraud and hung up on him.  These people have no  scruples.  So block this number if you can.  Dishonest people are everywhere  but  his one will no longer be able to access me by phone.

They call here all the time.  I believe they are calling from India.  I told the guy before there was no way they could see if I have an infection on my computer unless they are sitting in front of it.  I told him to get a decent job where he was not preying on people trying to get their hard earned money.  If I do not know the number, I let it go to voice mail, I refuse to take my time talking to these worthless pieces of trash.  They NEVER leave a message. I wish our government would try to do something to try to stop these people.

Called at 10.49 a.m., 1/30/2017.  Palm Springs, CA on CID.  Didn't answer, no message left.  If you answer these "Windows" spammers, ask them what your IP address is.  They won't have a clue.

"Unknown name" on CID @ 8:37am. Very earnest young Indian man (whose English was actually quite good, for once, nor did he cuss me out at the end of the call, which made a nice change) tried very VERY hard to convince me that he wasn't a scammer even though all the others who'd called me with the exact same spiel before might have been. Claimed to be from Microsoft, even, and that the "server" had automatically called me because of this problem with my computer.

But, you know, when they can't even tell you which operating system you use (which Microsoft should know), and they get your COUNTRY wrong (apparently Salt Lake City is in the UK, who knew!)... well, at that point, he knew the jig was well and truly up and politely ended the call after I wasted his time for about ten minutes.

Received a call from a man with an Indian accent, "Brian, from the Windows technical department".  That's as far as I let him get before hanging up.

Received a call on my cell from a man with a heave accent saying he was calling from Widows and if i had received their messages regarding an error code on my computer.  I said, I don't know who you are, give me a number where I can call you back, he said 800-102-1100, what is your name, he said John Smith (I mean really!), you have an employee #, he said 8020.  Well of course that was not a real number.  I have blocked the number and i suggest you all do the same.

Called my cell phone today at 12:47 p.m, CST.   I didn't recognize the number so I declined the call - no message left.  Checked here.  Windows/virus scammers called my cell phone the other day using a different number.  IRRITATING BEYOND BELIEF!
