a person sounds  Asian claims he is an attorney by the name of John E. Best.  Has the last four digits of my wifes SS #.  He claims that somebody is using her identy and there is a lawsuit against her.  He claims to be in Imperial California.  When he talks sit is like a reverb is turned on and when we talk we can hear ourselves being repeated.  I have tried to find his Law Offices on the Internet and the reverse nmae look up. and it comes up with nothing for his offices. I called the Imperial City Police Dept and they could not help either. however, sthey advised me that there have been a series of SCAMS  like that going on.

So this guy calls.  I explain to him that he has to provide me with a bill before I will pay anything.  He gives me his lawyers number.  I googled his and then contact my local police department.  The jerk calls back this evening and proceeds to tell me that I am a porn star.  Which is funny because I really don't have time to be one, and if I was I really wouldn't need any kind of payday loan.  I have blocked his number with our carrier and hope that they land themselves in jail for being sick losers.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

Same asian guy claiming to be from law office and having a lawsuit against me. The guy called my cell and work number. I called back and no one answers phone and goes to a cheap answering machine with one beap.

He sounded Arabian to me.. He called said I have 3 legal cases pending blah blah blah.. Gave me a number to call. I did not notice at the time it was the same number on my caller ID. I called the number on my caller ID about 6 times till he answered. Told him to quit calling me, take my number off his list and if he doesn't I will report him to authorities and he will have a legal case on his hands. He proceeded to tell me he will have the cops come to my house and arrest me! Ha really? Such an idiot. So I called my local police station to report him they advised me to call my phone company and get his number blocked because it is a scam!!! Don't believe a word this fool tells you!!! My next phone call is to the police station within the same area code! He messed with the wrong person!!!!

An Indian guy keeps calling and says I have a file against me. It is more than one person. They call 5 to 6 times a day. I have blocked every number then they change numbers. Then the next time I get a call it's blocked. I try to ignore the phone or click decline on my phone. These idiots keeps calling and harassing me throughout the day. These phone companies should be ashamed of themselves for making you pay extra to block these idiots from calling. Now they emailing and texting. I send it to spam.

I had the same Asian guy call me and say the same thing to me from the same number (760)483-3764. He thought he could fool me but once he realized he couldn't after the 6th call...he stopped.

These people call everyday from several different numbers. They are scammers. I wish they would leave me alone. The numbers are 59150003815, (800) 749-9963, (888) 685-7774, (800) 646-7788, (800) 319-9416, (800) 226-5116, (800) 226-5116, (760) 483-3764 CA, USA, (447) 575-5915, (212) 509-1900 NY, USA. (888) 202-1097. I have blocked every single number on my cell phone. They get mad then try to call me with number blocked. Now they email me too which I keep blocking. I'm gonna change my email account but I refuse to change my cellphone number because they don't win. This should be against the law to harass people everyday.

I just got the same calls starting 7am he even called my workplace and left me a voicemail on my cell phone saying I wouldnt like the situation that is going to unfold

same guy just called my wife with the same as the others on here... so we looked the number up... SCAM.... Wanting the her to call 760 483 3765 to talk this attorney Adam Spencer.. Well it is not real.. Why call you to tell you to call this other number with one diget off from the other??? because it is a scam..

Rec'd four calls from this morning, two at home, two at work.  Messages were left by a man with a heavy Indian accent telling me that either myself or attorney on record for myself needs to return the call.  Called back approx six times, each time, phone would ring two or three times, would be picked up & then immediatly hung up.  Final time, it was answered by another man w/ a less obvious Indian accent asking what I wanted.  I told him that I was returned his call, gave my phone number, and was transferred to their "senior attorney", Curtis or Chris.  Was on hold for about two minutes while a tone ringing version of "oh my darlin' clementine" played as hold music.  When it was answered, was answered by the same man, trying to disguise his voice, identifying himself as the senior attorney for the ex bar association of the state of california.  I asked why he was calling, he gave my name & last four of my ssn, and asked me to verify.  I refused to verify my SSN, he told to stop calling him, keep my hands in my pockets, and enjoy being arrested, then hung up.  Called back, went through the same routine of the phone being answered.  After the hold music & transfer, I asked him to identify himself, he stated that he was a senior attorney for the us government.  I couldn't help it at the point, I laughed.  When I said that he wasn't, and the us government wouldn't be calling me, he replied with "f**k you", and hung up.

Today his name was Eric Brown. I yelled that this was nothing but a scam and hung up. Then something really strange happened...The number of my place of employement came up on my cell phone (I was at work at the time), The same person, told me I was suspended from my job. I made a few choice comments and hung up on him again.

Harrasing calls

They called me yesterday...a female did...couldn't understand half the [***] she was saying and i told her i didn't have time for this [***] and i hung up. She called 4 more times afterwards and i didn't answer. Googled the number and found the information needed to satisfy my curiosity.  Now its Saturday morning at 7:15 and after a semi-long night of drinking and having late night headboard banging they called and woke me up...i ignored the first call...as i was re-entering REM sleep and continuing my dream of luxury living and and eating humming bears they called RIGHT back. .... i answered this time...a little pissed off..same woman ' Hello, is dis Mafu Baey' with her [***] up accent trying to prono unce my American name i proceeded to tell her to to [***] and I'm aware they are an extortion scam and I've reported them to the FTC ..so they can go [***] themselves ...she hung up. And it has been a quiet morning. That's my story with these pricks. Just be verbal and aggressive with them. They'll stop.

Same thing with me.  When I mentioned that my brother is a lawyer and I would be referring this to him.  He hung up on me.

So I got a call from a Dallas number and as soon as they tried to identify themselves I told them ot to call me ever again. Well This prick kept calling. 21 times in a row. Finally I answered. I told him I was recording the call and after he finished cussing me out he hung up.Today I get a call from760-483-3764. Same scam. I told them I was recording and again was cussed out. I have reported both numbers to the FTC and turned over my recorded portion of the call to them as well
