Okay, gang, I've hit the Mother Load!  Read below and be sure to copy these numbers.  I've called them all, and I'm registering complaints against them all:

    The following numbers 760-526-8172, 201-210-6015, 818-870-5041, 763-392-5983, 508-534-1282, 978-570-2251, 213-363-5145, 702-520-1432, 702-520-1494, 916-219-8162, 603-214-3661 ALL reached the SAME message in the same recorded voice.  The message said:

"Thank you for calling.  We are sorry if we reached your number in error.  We only purchase and call business phone listings.  If you would like the number removed from our calling list, please press 1."

I called the first number (760-526-8172) without my phone being blocked.  When asked to press 1 to remove my number from their list, nothing registered; instead, the same message repeated as many times as I pressed 1.

I called all the other numbers I've listed here.  Each had different caller IDs and each had different area codes, BUT THE ALL LED TO THE SAME RECORDED MESSAGE!

This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.  Companies HAVE to identify themselves, they HAVE to provide us (within no more than 30 days) their company's Do Not Call Policy, and they HAVE to allow us to opt out of future calls by telling them to put us on their company's Do Not Call List.  If they fail to do even ONE of these things, they are breaking the law and can be fined—per call!

    Check out this info:

    http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm
Read numbers 36-40 at the bottom of the page

    http://www.callercomplaints.com/articles/Make500.aspx
"The Telephone Consumer Protection Act, passed by Congress in 1991, sets out precise rules for telemarketers to follow. For example, one of these rules says that they must maintain a written Do Not Call policy, which they are required to send you upon request. Another rule is that you may ask to be placed on the firm’s Do Not Call list.

"And here’s the clincher: if the company breaks either of these rules, or a whole host of others, they will owe you $500-$1500 per violation, which you can receive by filing a complaint in your local Small Claims Court.

"If the calls stop, then you’ve won (because they’ve stopped calling you)! But if they do not, or if you do not receive a copy of their policy, then… you’ve still won ($$$). Record every subsequent call—each one is worth $500 to you—then look up your local Small Claims Court, fill out the 10 minutes of paperwork (usually online), and file a claim."

Here's the info that will make you the happiest:  http://www.fcc.gov/eb/tcd/ufax.html
It's a list of heavy forfeitures being currently proposed.

Now you can take back your power and reclaim your peaceful existence!  Report calls from any of the numbers you have copied from above.  Call them to verify them for yourself, if you wish.  I was told that even 3 complaints registered with the FCC and/or the FTC would lead to investigation of the company.

This number with the same caller ID has called before on 07/24/2008 at 1:08 PM.  That time I didn't pick up.

Today I decided to try to get some information from them.  I asked why they were calling, and they said it was to renew my car warranty, which was about to expire.  Then they asked my name.  I said, "Well, you should have it if it's about to expire."

They said, "We don't actually carry your current warranty."

I pretended to be interested and asked what all services they included.  They said "Every part, including air conditioning."

I asked how much, and they said they needed the make and model of my car, which I gave them.  They still wouldn't give me their price, and said they were going to turn me over to one of their "specialists."

I said, "I'll tell you what, you just caught me going out the door.  What number could I call you back at?"

    They hung up.

Several complaints about this same scam at the same number have been reported at http://www.callercomplaints.com/SearchResult.aspx?Phone=760-526-8172

More complaints at http://whocalled.us/lookup/7605268172 and also at https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/7605268172

I reported it to the FTC Do Not Call List and to the FCC complaint site.

This is once again another of the hundreds of numbers this "auto warranty" place uses to call and harass people.Even after pressing *1 to have your number removed and placed on the "Do Not Call" list they just turn around and call from a different number.

This people are really @#$$@.  I get a call at my work phone EVERYDAY and this has gone on for months!  I have waited on hold long enough to talk to them several times and have requested very nicely that they remove my number from thier list.  They won't remove it!!!  Today, I tried as nicely as I could to ask them to remove me but he just hung up on me.  I have also tried being nasty, but nothing works.

People who do this are just @#%@#%$ that obviously are too stupid to be able to get a real job.  The only people more stupid are the people who purchase a warranty from these @#%$@#% and the FCC who obviously doesn't have the balls to do anything about it.  I have seen complaints about this number since 2006 and it is now 4/2/09.  If they haven't done anything about it by now they never will.  Just another annoying piece of @#$@#$@#4 in our face everyday that we can't do a @#$@#$@#$ thing about.

"Our" "government" is nothing but a bunch of loosers protecting another bunch of #@#$@#$ loosers.  God forbid they should do anything to protect the ones who pay thier taxes and do their best to stay within the law.  They are too busy protecting criminals.

Also add these to the list:

    760-526-8172
    205-561-2815
    410-629-7065
    603-214-3340
    202-747-7323
    502-565-1340

Gotten a call from each line every other day on my cell.  At least they stopped calling my house number which I probably had about 10 different numbers there...they seem to have a pattern of house phone at first and now attacking people's cell numbers the past few months.

I reported the same complaints on the same numbers and received a written reply from the FCC that there was no violation and that they could do nothing about my complaint. I am on the do not call registry. I continue to receive these annoying calls to the tune of several a day, but can do nothing about them according to the FCC.

Report all of these people at www.donotcall.gov   They will forward info to the police departments for investigation and possible legal action.  The more complaints they get on any given number, the more likely it is to shut them down.

Be aware that if you say "yes" during a conversation with these people, they can patch it into a recording to make it sound like you agreed to buy an advertisement or something.  When you get a bill and they have that to back it up, it's nasty.

Stop them in their tracks - ask them the name of their company, the address of the company, their name - their supervisor's name.  Usually, they hang up when you ask for the address.

The only way to not be a vicitm of these scammers is to be on the offensive and get nasty.
