It is actually known under two names: Monterey Collection Services and Monterey Financial Services. I returned an item to Euro-Pro (Shark Vacuum) and had to pay $14 shipping to return it. Got employee signature..They got it back and delayed and delayed crediting me...I had to file a claim with my credit card company. That was in March...It's Oct and now they are trying to get me to pay for something I returned and have a signature for...Incredible.

I received an e-mail from Euro-Pro, stating that this was my third and final notice for non-payment and I had been turned over to Monterey Collections service. (a little surprising, since this was the one and only time I was ever contacted, not the third time). I was given the phone # to call. I did indeed purchase the Shark steamer last year, and spread the payment over 4 months, to be automatically deducted from my American Express. After 2 payments, my Amex was stolen and I was given a new account number. My other auto-withdrawals - newspaper, pet insurance - all tranferred right over to the new number. But I did notice that the Shark payment did not show up. Sooo, trying to do the right thing, I called the 800 number on my previous months' Amex bills, only to hear that the number had been disconnected. There was no other number given to call. Seemed a little shady, but I honestly forgot about it after that. But now, almost a year later, I receive a very curt e-mail to call the collections agency to resolve this. Euro Pro has never tried to contact me, NOT ONCE, about this, so saying this is my thrid and final notice is a lie. I did call the collections agency today, but, due to a "high volume of calls", I left a message in their voicemail. Haven't heard back yet. I have no problem paying the balance due (even though the Shark Steamer actually stinks and nobody should buy it), but don't put this on me like it's all my fault and I'm trying not to pay. Euro Pro is a shady company. Stay away.

I got the same email. First time they have tried to contact me. Sent back the piece of crap almost a year ago as well but never heard anything and since I saw no charges I thought they had it. Now got this email. I am reporting them to BB because they did not try to resolve this with me ONCE before sending to Coillection Agency!?! Also, post as many horrible things as you can on this fraudulent company. They sell it for $99 plus shipping when you can get it at Sams for 79.99 no shipping. It doesn't do anything but steam bath my hair. The customer service is from India.. no wonder it was lost or whatever...

I decided to skip by the collections agency and call Euro-Pro customer service myself...in India of course, just like u said...they actually claimed they were unable to bill me since they didn't have my address, which was pretty damn funny since it's the same address they actually sent the steamer vacuum to...what a bunch of shady losers...Euro Pro is truly the worst...never again...and u are so right - the steamer is a complete waste of time - u have to push it with every breath u have to get any steam to come out, which at that point steams u in the face...u end up sweaty, with frizzy hair and not so clean floors...I am reporting them to the BBB as well...they deserve it...
