Said he was DEA and that my name and address were on a box that was impounded by boarder control.   Suppositvely worked ou t of DEA of office. Central number with answering machine answered return call. No receptionist answered call no extension offered when told to ask for specific extension. Not certain what agency can be contacted to end this scam. Children's voices heard in background of one of the calls. DEA would not be so unprofessional.
Any suggestions of REAL Agency that can stop these con men and protect inoscent pople?  Isn't there a law against impersonating an officer?

yup - scammer claiming to be dea in broken english. asked by first and last name for the dude who had this number before me six some-odd years ago. dude must have been hooked on ambien as most of the calls for him are asian telemarketers offering his prescription.

this caller used foreign words in english sentences seeming oblivious to the correct word in this language. feigned american black accent a few times but sounded like a strange mixture of asian and latino accent most of the time.

Have had two calls in the past two months.  Last one today saying dea has confiscated a package at the boarder with my name and address.  The address was a former address of mine.  I told him he's a scammer and calling from southern CA.  Says he will see me in court.
Called the number back about ten minutes later; phone was answered:  "Bank of America."  Told him he's full of s$%& and a __________.
Wish I knew how to report the number.

got a call from 1760705-1774 x 9189 - Jacob Rameriz & Chief Commander Anthony D. Wms claiming to be DEA agents and I should know that I will be arrested this call camethis morning at 7:32am PST to advise me that a warrant has been issued to arrest and the cops/DEA enforcers on 5 mins away from my home.  First they said there's a package being held in US Customs that have prescription drugs in it with my name on it and it supposedly came from the Dominican Republic and no taxes were paid, so they are after me for the taxes and in order for the DR government to lay off persuing extradition, I should pay anywhere from $2800 to 4800 dollar to this website :  Xoom.com and sign up with a new account and input my BANKING INFORMATION.  But initially they asked me to keep them on the line & get ready to head to my bank to get the money to be wired to them.  If I agree to get the money for them, the Chief will stop the cops from coming to my home to arrest for the weekend and they'll have my picture plastered all over the lcoation newspapers until I can see a federal judge to come to a reckoning.   I called our local DEA office to inform and inquire.  They said this is a SCAM and they said the DEA will NEVER asked anyone for money!!!

The scammers sound very convincing, just get their names and number and tell them that you'll be getting right back to them.  Then tell them that you're headed to the local authorizes to report this matter and rectify this with the locals.  These scammers can be very intimidating.  Be strong and don't give it to there BS.

Received threatening call from an "Officer Pena" informing me that I was going to be extradited to the Dominican Republic to stand trail. When asked for further information or if I should hire a lawyer, he was vicious and slammed down the receiver and said he would appear with a warrant.  I will be reporting this to the police.

Caller told me he was a DEA agent and that I was being investigated for buying Ambien on line and I would be prosecuted by the DEA in the Dominican Republic. He said I could face seven years jail time and there was a warrant out for my arrest. He wanted me to send him $2200.00 via Money Gram to reduce the charges. He had a very thick spanish accent and said his name was DEA Pena. He told me I had 45 minutes to transfer the money or I wll be arrested. I did not transfer any money instead I called the real DEA and reported the matter.  After 45 minutes he kept calling my phone however I did not answer. This happened at my job phone. He wanted my cell phon number which I refused to give to him.

I got the same call today from Officer Pena and it scared the crap out of me!!! They knew my full name and address and called my cell phone and my work number. I called a friend of mine to check this out because I knew they couldn't have been talking about me and he informed that it was a scam and so he called the number several times to talk with them and tell him that he would like to help in this case and meet face to face to discuss this case and every time he called today it was a busy signal. My husband tried calling the number back this evening before 5 and all he got was and answering machine that took messages..  The real DEA wouldn't have an answering machine that takes messages, they would have someone answering the phones 24/7. As many others this had me scared to death.

The same thing happened to me 10 minutes ago. When he told me I was under arrest I started laughing
hysterically. I told him that it had been a really boring day and I couldn't wait for the excitement.
He got mad, said the police were on their way and hung up.

He wanted money wired to him, why isn't he in jail?.................all the police have to do is wait for him to
    pick up his bribe.

I got the call as well. I actually believed him until he told me the warrent was from a US district court sitting in Costa Rica. I said we don't have jurisdiction there and that was illogical. He started to get defiant and argue that I didn't know the law. At that point he couldn't justify his lie and got deeper into a stupid story. It was almost fun to listen to the guy try to wiggle through his own stupidity. I will admit he scared me at first.  I repeatedly was saying I was driving over to my local federal building to turn my self in. He kept telling me it was too late and they were 30 minutes away from my home. He identied himself as San Deigo DEA. I understand that Western Union is actually aggressively trying to catch these people. They have a reporting number as well. May get more done through their fraud unit to stop this.
