Did not receive phone call from this number, however it belongs to a company that charged my credit card for a service I never ordered, nor received. It was only for a couple dollars, so I almost didn't catch it!

I did some research on the company, looked them up in the whois.net database, and all information I got was very sketchy! Beware, possible scammers?

I also received a charge on my credit card statement for $6.95 from this company...Coastal Web Solutions.  Luckily they took the charge off my account.  I called the number and it was an answering maching with someone with a very foreign accent...please leave a message...I hung up.  What upsets me is how they got our credit card number to bill us?

I did not leave a message. I did not authorize this charge. Get the word out on these scammers! I don't know how they got my credit card #.

I also got a $4.95 charge on my credit card.  I called and rec'd VM - sent them an email which they responded to.  They stated there was a mistake and that they would be crediting the money back to my account - said I should see the money in 2-3 days.  I've sent at least 3 follow up notes to them asking how they got my card number and they will not respond.

Checked out their website - for a web design template company, their site leaves a lot to be desired.  The links don't even work.

If my money does not get returned to my account, I will contact my bank next.

I got the $4.95 charge.  They are assuming most people won't catch it..great way to make millions of dollars because the CC companies don't have time to mess with little charges and most people won't notice.  I just simply disputed the charge with my CC company.  I bought from two different internet sites the day my card was charged, obviously one of them is not that secure.  These hackers are tapping into their numbers. Don't contact them.  To preserve your rights and get your money back the only way is to dispute the charge directly with your CC company within 60 days of receiving the first statement showing the charge.

I also received a charge for $4.95 from Coast Web Solutions.  I called Bank of America to dispute the claim.  They are going to dispute the charge but in the meantime they had to destroy my debit card and I have to wait 7-10 days for a replacement.  What a pain in the @$$!!  I sent emails to the consumer departments of my local news stations hoping they would help to get the word out about these scammers.

I also just noticed a charge from this "company".  I called them, got the fake sounding "customer service" recording, and left a message for someone to call me back asap.  We'll see if they call back.  If not, I'm sending an email and I will go to the BBB if needed.

Did not get a call but a charge of $2.95 on my debit card account appeared. Never even been to the website before today to check them out. Disputed it with the bank, canceled my current debit card and ordered a new one.

    Nick - Also scammed
I was scammed for $4.95 and already took care of reporting the fraud. VISA seems to not care that there are people out their compromising their credit card database and stealing credit card numbers, expiration dates, names and addresses.

Their domain name (coastalwebtech.com) is registered through godaddy.com. I suggest that anyone affected by this should file a complaint with godaddy.com so they can shut the site down and prosecute them. Also, they should file a complaint with the FBI.

I just noticed this odd charge for $4.95 from Coastal Web Solutions on my Visa debit card...my bank also lists the phone # as 760-994-4853...could not figure out what the heck it was for so I looked them up and found this site.  Thanks for the heads up since I will now be getting in touch with my bank about this fraudulent charge!!  I'm not even going to bother calling CWS since I expect to get the run-around as so many of you have.  SO annoying.

Same story as you guys.  $4.95 charge.  Just curious if you all had used the card in question to pay for Equifax in the past.  They had problems where employees sold numbers to scammers before, this was the only other thing I had used my card for in the past few months.

I called Godaddy.com based on an earlier message in this thread.  Godaddy insists coastwebtech.com is NOT registered with them.  Here is the information from their whois lookup:

Yes, I used my card to pay for a credit report from Equifax, back in the summertime.  Ironic!

However, I've also used this particular card to pay for a ton of other things as well, so I'm really at a loss to know just where the security hole is.  Oh well, the card is canceled now so the hole is gone...just wish I knew where it originated.
