CID “unknown”. Message said “Ryan Smith calling from Departmennt of Social Security Adminstration...legal enforcement action .. blah blah blah.. call this number as soon as possible...” Scam. Blocked!

I just received a recorded call stating they were an officer from the social security administration informing me that there was a criminal case attached to my social security. The recording directed me to call them back asap.

I didn't pick up, but the voicemail says that "Social security administration" saying that there was "illegal enforcement action filed on my social security number for criminal activities" and asking that I call them back at the number they called with.

I just received the same call. spoke to a "ricky tanner". i hate this because there are elderly people who fall for this mess because they think it's reall!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Informed me there is a legal enforcement action filed on my Social Security number for criminal activity, so I should call them as soon as possible before they begin with legal proceedings.

They keep calling saying from Social Security as the others have said..I keep blocking them and they keep using a different number. I have a BIG surprise for them the next time. SCAMMERS, good for nothing creeps and the 'government' should be doing something for 'we the people' about this.!!

Let me guess - your "big surprise for them the next time" is to blow a whistle or air horn into the phone. I'll save your hearing for you and tell you now that modern phones don't transmit sounds at harmful levels.

Automated voicemail saying there was legal enforcement on my Social Security number for criminal activity and I need to call them back as soon as possible. I am a senior but thankfully still have my wits about me. Obvious scam.

I recieved the same phone call looks like a scam. Not sure if we can take any action against them!

Received an automated call saying LT. so and so was calling because there was a criminal investigation associated with my social security #.  Called 765-329-3984 and a man with a foreign accent answered.  He hung up quickly when I called him out on his scam.

Same as the others-legal action against your social security number please call asap, etc etc etc, SCAM.

Called and said the same thing as others.....social security trying to file legal actions against me for criminal activity. Called the number back and just a dial tone.

I don't give out or use my cell phone for any type of business, so the SSA does not have my cell phone number.  Message left on my cell phone. :  "Hi.  This is Officer Ryan Smith, calling you from the Department of Social Security Administration.  The reason you have received this phone call from our department is to inform you that there is a legal enforcement action filed on your SS# for criminal activities.  So, when you get this message, kindly call us ASAP on our number that is (765-329-3984, I repeat, (765) 329-3984 before we begin with the legal proceedings.  Thank you."  THIS IS A SCAM--THE SSA DOES NOT MAKE THESE TYPE OF PHONE CALLS!!!

Voice message left on my cell phone where they had a recording of a woman's voice saying that criminal activities have been attached to my SS# and to call them back at another number.  I just hung up.

Same as the others SSA scam

From Rickey Tanner, claiming to be with the social security office.  He gave me his I D number and gave me a case number.He said the FBI has an open case attached to my name. I ask him why it sounded like he was in a tunnel,  and if that was his service dog barking in the back groung. We got disconected.
