Well I am one of the lucky ones, I got a call at 12:30 am on the dot lastnight along with 2 other numbers throughout the day, of course I didn't answer since I don't know the numbers but since they didn't leave a voice mail I'm not worried, anyhow only 3 people has my number, one being my husband, the other is verizon and my 70 year old Grandma, my husband loves me, my verizon bill is up to date and my Grandma lives with us and doesn't know.
The other two all say their from different jails or prisons, and are a possible scam from random inmates, this is probably another scam.

No message but called twice at abt. 5:30 am on Jan. 1, 2014 and Jan. 5 same time. I did not answer as I did not recognize the caller. I not not want calls at this time unless it is an emergency from someone i know.

Phone rang once at 1pm, no message.

One ring then went to missed call. Anyone know what this is about ?

It is a scam.  If you call it back it will cost you at least $3 a minute and put you on a list for other scamers.

Just out of curiosity, how did you get here to enter your comment without first being dumped on one of the three current pages of this web site devoted to calls from this number?  If you had read those pages, particularly, it seems, the one on which you posted, there is all kind of information as to what this is about.  I'd like to know how and why what I am posting and what others are posting about these scams is always missed by people and what we can do better to make sure it is noticed.

call went straight to missed call list; a Carribbean number?

Received a partial ring from this # @ 4:14pm, no message was left.  I have blocked the phone # and deleted it.

Called at 12:45 am, rang once then hung up.

AZ - received call from this number on my cell phone at 10:30 pm - I did not answer and there was no message

GOT CALL FROM 1-767-275-9172 at 8:59 a.m. and found out this place is in dominican republic trying to obtain personal information regarding checking accounts, pin numbers, etc.  Kept pushing to get what they could.  Had I been an older person unaware of the scams out there, they could have potentially convinced me that my accounts were in jeopardy and needed to be protected.  I called the person out and they then hung up on me.

received a call @ 11:15 AM EDT from this number.  Did not answer the phone.

Rang once, hung up before any answer 11:14 am Eastern time.   Dominica it seems.

Angel Eyes, since when does a person have to be "old" to be unaware of scams?  Don't forget, you have to be young to get "old", but being young does not guarantee getting "old".  Are you really prejudiced against "old"/seniors who have lived longer and are more experience than youngsters or kids.

who are these people and why do they keep on changing numbers?

This call went straight to missed calls.

it's a scam. they let the phone ring once and hope that you call it back.  once you do, you are transferred to a sex hotline and you receive outrageous charges on your next phone bill.  you may also get a call like this from area code 473.  just don't answer or call back if you don't recognize the number.

Got a call from this number (Dominica) on my cell.  I answered without looking to see what number it was; when I picked up no one was there.

received call w/no voice mail.

Got this call several times and is dead air. called back and no response. my number is private so i dont know how it got through
