they message says to call back immediately so that I don't get arrested and that this is a tax issue.  But they don't give the name of the company.  I called it back and a man answered the phone and just said hello.

The Filth-world scam artists are hitting the phones hard again, with bogus claims that the recipient of the call has committed a tax-related violation.  Unlike the countless other calls with some dirt-bag Indian/Pakistani boiler-room call center piss-ant introducing themselves with a phony Western name, the latest call and variation on the tired old theme (originating from this particular number at 12:16 PDT today) was obviously a computer-generated text-to-speech spiel - with Ms. Roboto identifying "herself" as "Officer Brianna Scott of the United States Treasury".  Interestingly, just 16 minutes prior to this call, another call from a different number (773 area code rather than 770) with a very similarly-worded, recorded script-based message - read by an Indian/Pakistani male was received at 12:00 PM PDT.  Unfortunately, I'm sure that there are too many fellow Americans who haven't learned about this ruse, and are taking the bait, which further perpetuates this scam.

Just got the same call-- computer generated recording. I did call back. A guy with a heavy middle-eastern accent answered the phone "Dept Collection Department." That was it. Didn't mention a government agency, etc. I told him I received a call form this number and he hung up. NEVER provide your name, address or any other personal information. If it were the government, they would notify you through the mail using your last tax return. If you're older, they use the address on file for Social Security benefits. The government notifies taxpayers through the mail. Any debt a company that THINKS you owe them money must notify you through the mail. Before they would ever call, you'd receive a bill in the mail explaining the charges and where they come from.

This is a scam.  Will be reporting to authotities, not only for wire fraud but an out right threat.

I called them back to tell them it is being reported, we know they are in Atlanta, he said over and over, ooh I'm scared.

Just another automated call to get you to call back and they will try to scam you for IRS TAXES BS

So they called again today, isn't there something that can be done about this?

Did not answer.  It was my second call from the warning me that if I didn't call their number left on the voice mail, That I was "being sued for tax fraud", and I would be arrested if I did not respond immediately....

I am receiving frequent calls from this number stating it is my last chance to resolve a tax issue before I am arrested.

Getting calls from this number saying that  I owe money to irs and it's coming from Marietta Georgia

Same message...scam attempt.
