- Herb Keyes Jr replies to Krysti| 1 replyYes I would be willing to help out, I have received numerous calls from these people at work and on my cell saying they were officer so and so and yesterday I got a call from a lady claiming to be a process server she gave me a number to call. The company Bahamas Marketing Group does business under many other names and my loan had been paid off for over a year.
- Brentthe fact that this guy can barely speak english but his name is "Mike Johnson" really tickles me. He doesnt even have to go into the whole speil about collecting a debt, i immediately know its a scam. What a loser.
I have called the police and made a report. All that has done is hurt me. I have had to block my own ssn from obtaining credit, had to put a notice on file with my bank and revoke my own check writing priviledges so that all of my transactions are PIN based now. Cant access my money in my account without my pin #.... This is all heartache for me, not them. Its just disgusting to me that this kind of stuff is being allowed to go on. I understand its illegal, however, it is still happening. These people should be in prison.- Caller: 772-409-6570

- beverett replies to Herb Keyes JrI got a call from someone yesterday saying that I owed 1202.00 but they would settle for 301.00. If I don't they will have my drivers license suspended. You would not believe the calls I have received. I came home and looked at my bank statement for 2/2011 and there is no payday loan deposit. But they don't want to hear that. I am supposed to call this guy back today to tell him if I'm going to pay or not. Guess what? Not!
- beverett replies to KrystiThis is a bad phone number. They have someone calling me so I called Bahama Marketing Group, or tried to. Number doesn't work.

Yesterday I finally decided to answer it. She stated they were a collection agency, and I immediately got yelled at by a lady on the phone (who had an accent that sounded like someone from overseas) stating I received a payday loan in 2012 in the amount of $300.00 from a company named JD Marketing. Of course this is not true. I have had payday loans in the past (last one in 2007..ish) but from a well known payday loan company and only was one that was local, more importantly, it was paid off. Anyways, I requested documentation to prove it was mine. She then got REALLY pi**ed off and gave me to a manager. The manager threatened me and then offered to "write off" a portion of it. I again said not without documentaion; to whit she said they don't have to provide that (because "they were the only the ones who took the debt/note") and they would be charging me with four different crimes including fraud, FTP a debt and some other stuff (I couldn't understand her through her anger and accent) if I don't pay them and I would be seeing it on my credit report and it would be going to court. The ending of our conversation ended up with her being snide and hanging up on me. Never during any of her tirade was I rude to her, in fact, requested that she take a deep breath and speak to me with some professionalism. Despite knowing this is a scam it's thoroughly frightening, they were bullies for lack of a polite word! I'm not one to be scared into something like this, I can only imagine how others react and just pay without proof because they are unsure or scared! NEVER PAY WITHOUT PROOF! Again, all of this is supposedly in the name of JD MARKETING. Beware!- Caller: Collection Agency for JD Marketing Payday Loans

- ed replies to ANNOYEDAre you still getting calls? Any updates? I got a call from a wage management as they claim and that they will submit the complaint to my county's court. Scared me and now dont know what to do.
- Ryan| 1 replyI got a call from "Terry" claiming that I owe for a payday loan (which I have never taken out in my life) that I took out 5 years ago when I lived in KY. 2 problems, I didn't live in KY 5 years ago, and I work for the federal government and have to have criminal and financial background checks. Called back and told them I had alerted the police that they were trying to scam me. The woman who answered immediately became enraged when I told her none of the "information" they had on me was even correct. She started yelling "Well I wasn't the last person you talked to, so I don't know what information you were given. The only scam is when people don't pay their debts!" After which she hung up. If it was truly a reputable company the call back wouldn't have ended with them hanging up like scared [***].
- BigA replies to RyanThis is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. One of the tricks they use is to call your work place repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying. They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

- Tiffany handI am having this same problem a gentlemen called me today telling me I defrauded a bank account and needed to pay or they will take me to court. That had some information when I asked what they had it was from 15 years ago every time ive moved I have updated my addresses to make sure I receive all mail. When I asked for them to send me physical information and wanted to update the information so I could receive whatever information he was talking about. He got hassle and told me that I was refusing and wanted to dispute. He ended my call with u can get the information in court. I wasn't disputing any of it I just wanted to get more information not just pay a random stranger on the phone that says I owe it. How do they think that someone is just going to give them money over the phone. I know I had a loan I thought I paid it off through the jd marketing if I didn't I would love to pay it off but I'm not going to just give money to a random person over the phone. So what do I do how do I know if it's real?? Let alone these people just talk over u and u can't say anything
