received a voice mail claiming that we won a vehicle from a Mitchells Group - someone had entered our name in a contest.  The caller (Tony) claimed they were not a telemarketer nor selling timeshares and did know that we were on a 'do not call list'.  Scam!

Received voice mail after business hours from Tony at Mitchell Communications Group claiming we had won one of 4 top prizes from our name being entered into a vehicle drawing. Also stated they were not a telemarkerter nor selling timeshares and was aware of the "do not call list". Said to call back 866-222-1995 ext 221. Cannot find the call back number connected to any business.

I received the same message from a "Tony" , today.  He left the exact lines that you quoted.  He needs to be stopped.

not too bright.   the msg said something to the effect, this is a place holder for your message.  You have to record over this place holder.

I received a call today from this person to record over this message or someting like that anyway this needs to stop Im going to report this number to the do not call list as my number is on the list.

this SCAM continues...same caller Tony same message I have reported it to the FCC and BBB

Received a call from this phone number at 9am today (10/30)  Caller said his name was William and that I was one of the top prize winners in a contest.  He said he was not a telemarketer and also said there was no way they could have my phone number without me giving it to them.  BALONEY!!  These groups sell phone numbers to each other all the time.  And besides, he was calling my home phone number which I don't give out.  If I ever fill out any kind of contest entries, I always give my cell #.  This just wreaks of a scam!!  Don't be fooled people.

Caller ID showed Mitchell Group.773-288-8207. Msg was practicall ditto to the MeToo comments above. I noticed their call was Oct 28, 2008. This is a year later and these scammers are still interrupting our Sunday afternoons?
I didn't even waste my time in calling back to their #. Too many times it's a way for them to gain added leverage. Interesting side note is that 4 hours prior to this one came another caller with blocked ID wanting $$$$ donation to fight breast cancer...RIGHT...possibly connected callers? We had responded by answering that one...hmmm.

I got the same call from the Mitchell Group today.

Last night received a baloney call stating someone from my phone number entered a contest and won a car. He remarked this was not a telemarketer call and quickly gave a call back number that I could not understand.

first silence...then a male voice (recording) muttering something quietly like "This is a place holder for your message.  You have to record over this place holder." Then click and silence. Calling back gets a rapid busy signal.

I recieved the EXACT message today, from Tony as well saying its not a cold call its because I entered a contest in the last 12-18 mo and won a new car

Got this call from Tony who said someone entered my name and I had won one of the top four prizes one of which was a new car.  Did not call back this person.  They left the message on my answering machine

Strange. My phone rang and I picked up on the 4th ring after debating whether to answer as the caller id showed COMM GROUP MITC. After a pause, a quiet male voice said "I have the wrong number, so sorry". Then click, they hung up. Maybe they could tell I was in no mood for BS?

Same call as above on my answering machine when I returned home.  Caller was a tony and the return phone number to call was 877 279 3457 ext 109  My caller ID picked up his number as 773 288 8207  from Illinois.

Got the message almost word for word like the above posters. Tempted to call but knew I should check here first.
