Computer scam - robo message

Stated calling from Microsoft Refund Dept.  return their call to get a refund.   SCAM

775-234-0654 started calling a couple time a day.
I guess it's yet ANOTHER "Microsoft" scam.
They use many, many area codes, prefixes, numbers.

Scam caller regarding computer maintenance refund. The scammers are stupid. This scam many years old.

Robocall ..Recieved it twice today..offering refund for my computer tech contract. Followed by yet another call from a person via different number offering refund or contract would be renewed for 399.. Talked to person claiming to be from Geeksquad (Best buy) and wanting to renew my contract.. To cancel instead I would have to go thru website but he could not tell me the website!

I didn't answer call. At least I don't feel left out.

Yup, Microsoft "refund" scam, call placed to my cell, callback to that number only gets dead air.

Computer maintenance refund scam.

A badly broken-up recorded message, from which I gleaned this (not verbatim): '[unrecorded] ... (de)partment.  We're going out of business.  If you made a payment for the service and maintenance of your [garbled], call 775-234-0654.'  My first thought was scam, but this is unlike any of the multiple spam calls I get.  I didn't call them back.

Still ongoing as of Friday afternoon on 5/31/19 when they called us - but we were not privy to the recorded msg!  I guess we don't rate!

Fact:

• ANYONE who calls or emails you and says your computer called/contacted them is a SCAMMER.
• ANYONE who calls or emails you and says your online server called/contacted them is a SCAMMER.
• Windows Operating System licenses do not expire.
• ANYONE who calls or emails you with a message about your computer having illegal activity, is a SCAMMER.
• Apple will never, ever call you about alleged suspicious iCloud activity.
• ANY Tech Support Warning pop-ups you get while accessing the internet asking you to call a number or visit a website, is from a SCAMMER.
• Web Browsers DO NOT have the ability to determine and warn you your computer has an error. They can only warn you about a potential malicious website. A Browser is software that allows you to surf the Internet, not diagnose a computer or phone.
• ANY Tech Support company that insists you need their services because of some error, outdated software or tries to convince you that you need to allow them remote access is a SCAMMER.
• Nobody could possibly know if your computer or devices have an issue unless you tell them or gave them access.
• Tech Support companies DO NOT call or email to give out refunds because they are "going out of business", or to "cancel a subscription".  Companies DO NOT give refunds unless they have to.
• Companies DO NOT call to inform you that your subscription will be charged if you don't call back, only SCAMMERS do that. If you have a subscription with someone, they automatically charge you until you cancel it and they don't give a refund.
• Only a Scammer would want Remote Access to give a Refund.
• 3rd party Tech services DO NOT include Email account repairing or password resetting, since they can not access the email server unless it belongs to them.

Never trust a caller who wants to "help your computer" for any reason (unless you contacted them first), as they are only going to scam you. If you need Tech Support, you should contact a reputable local service.

Caller ID said "Unknown," but illiterate and illegitimate robocaller claimed to be from Microsoft Refund Department.  Recorded message was identical to message reported by MikeHuntleton above.  Switched off phone for a peaceful afternoon.  Hope a sink hole swallows up these bottom feeders!

Called, but left no message when I didn't answer.  Don't know anyone in Nevada, anyway. Blocked.

Just called me, too. Wow...Microsoft going out of business??? Maybe we should all bake a couple of casseroles each & take them to Bill & Melinda Gates. I would hate to see them starve if their company is in such dire straits!
Like P.T. Barnum said, " There is a fool born every second." Don't fall for it my brothers & sisters, lol.

Poor recording, but I assume it's the same old message about microsoft.
