Got a call from this number saying I won a vacation package from Rogers. Clueless as I was I pressed 1, but didn't meet the winning requirements. Skeptical, I also looked up the number and found out it is a scam.
How do people get away with scams like this? More people should be informed about them.  I have to pick up and answer even foreign numbers so it would help if I got a clue what to hang up on.

I want my prize!  I was so bummed when it turned out that this unknown number called me completely unsolicited for a contest I never entered!

Received call from this number on my cell phone.  No one was there when I answered.  A return call got a number disconnected message.  Looks like they have been busy today per all the posts for May 21.

Spanish sounding low voice told me I won a prize and I hung up right away.
I am in Calgary with Rogers.

I got a call from 775 234 9876 and traced to Michael Hendershot in Reno, NV.  He had a stret listing only-Steelwood DR 89512.

I guess judging from the other messages it is a scam number.  The picture of the house was beautiful and it is in an area of $500,000 homes.

Rec'd call from the same number today, May 22, 09 at 12:11 p.m., usually I would just hang up but it said its for Rogers' customer only, I pressed ONE as requested, it redirected me to a waiting music, I hung up right the way as I remember some people said before, if you pressed what ever number you were requsted, I will get a huge phone bill? I hope this is not true.. so worry now, can any one tell me what happened?

I got a call from the same # "1-775-234-9876", I didn't pick and got a voice mail which is totally unclear.  I called back and it said the # is not in service.

Same deal they said I won because myu rogers number was chosen I pressed 1 and they said I won a trip, I said what's this got to do with rogers and she didn't even know whayt rogers was...big scam don't do it

I, too, received a call from these guys claiming I had won a prize from Rogers. If I was interested, I was to press "1".  I hung up.  SCAM!

DONT ANSWER THIS NUMBER, good to know that Rogers is selling our phone numbers to marketers!

I just got a call saying that I just won a prize through rogers and to claim and collect to press 1. I pressed 1 and it redirected me and rang about 4 times and hung up. I`m in Toronto Canada

I just got this call now too. saying something about me winning a trip somewhere and to press 1 to claim my prize. other than the 775 number and the fact that I never entered in any contest, what leads me to believe this is a scam is the accent in the recording, which is very unrogers. Also the fact that they talked quickly and said for me to press 1. I thought this would be a scam and would try to foreward my call to a 1900 number and be charged without my knowledge.

No message and not able to return call.

Recieved this call today (Mon, May 25) at 12:42 PM. I answered and someone was speaking in Spanish, so I don't know what was being said. I tried to call back, but it said the number has been disconnected.

I am a Sprint customer. (2nd odd call today)

Got a call from this number at exactly 12:00 p.m. today (5/26/09). I did not pick up and the person did not leave a message. I guess it was one of those spam calls from Las Vegas.
