Then I come across this site, wow! I did not call back!

keep calling me with strange Spanish message

unsolicited spanish recording - I registered with donotcall.gov today.

Got a call from this # at 16:27 CST, march 4, 2009.  It was a can Robo-announcement in spanish. Sorry to say, No Habla Español.

Now I'm off to the FTC to file a complaint, as ineffectual as it will be and has always been, for violating the Do-not-call list that I verified that I've been on since July 5th, 2008.

Worthless, toothless bureaucrats and all the Happy-happy-joy-joy BS they feed us.

After reading other reports is there something done to investigate potential scams?

I got a call from the same number @ 8:52 am.  Didn't answer. I hope when these scammers get caught, they get sentenced to a lifetime of getting cornholed behind bars.

Got this call at 7:10. Some spanish lady mention something about $500...I hung up and called back, but there was no answer

Call received at 7:22P today. spanish caller, message in spanish. I'm in direct marketing, so feel very certain these calls are being directed from outside the US by use of random dialing. No DNS lists are being scrubbed against any database. In many foreign countries, solicitation calls to cell phones is allowed.

Whatever firm is random dialing, not ascribing to US law on DNS I want to know - I will personally slam them! Credible offers from credible companies do not use this practice. As a direct marketer I am a full supporter of banning unsolicited calls. Of course, why would I want to waste my time and tick potential customers off? These unscrupulous companies NEED to be shut down.

Just called back the number. In English it stated that this is a 'travel related call'. Checked the 775 area code and it is for the Carson City, NV area.

Now I am furious - this is an unreputable company with no sound business practices or operations. If they were a reputable company they would not be using random dialing and would have scrubbed cell phone #s. Yes, they called my cell phone and yes, area codes are assigned based on landline and mobile use.

Tried to leave a message, but their automated phone message service is bogus and is not operational.

Whoever it is, this company needs to be shut down.

Also got a call from this number at 1803 CST today ... also female, Spanish speaking caller.

Phone-Scam.

i got a call this evening also, did not answwer.  It looks like a scam,  if it was important they would have left a message.  I hope our gov. is smart enough to  take care of these idiots.  It makes living life a misery, its already bad enough to make things worse these idiots have to pesture people for more money.  Where is the sanity in all this!!  OK I feel better.

Glad I googled this call. I recently made changes to my Sprint cell service and changed phone numbers due to bogus text messages. The company is aware of both types of scams. Just don't answer from area codes you don't recognize and don't open texts that are trying to tell you that you've got some odd balance on a visa card or other credit card charged at a 7-eleven or grocery store. Once you answer, you'll be charged fees you don't expect. Let your carrier know this is happening. I dialed the 775# from a land line, it says "travel-related, press 1 to leave a message." I don't dare do it, that's probably where I get slammed with a huge long distance fee. Be careful. The last time this happened,I located a number coming from L.A. and spoke directly to the guys who anwered even though they kept hanging up on me. I threatened them with the police 'cuz I located them. They were using an 800# that time.
