Received call from 778-313-0462 this morning.  Offered me free membership at CARP and a subscription to Zoomer magazine for a year for free. I refused.

that ph# has called 4x  first call my boyfriend answered when I wasn't home, he hung up before the auto dialer transfered the call to a human.  The last call I was asleep and my bf attempted to take a message but per.son(male) refused and said he would call back. He hung up so fast my bf called the # back and heard a recording saying they were CARP and offering us products and services after a few moments it switched from a recording to a human asking to confirm my ph# ??? No!!! what and who are you? and why do you keep calling? he repeated the same shpeiL as the recording and wouldnt tell me anything about these products or services.... my bf thought I was a CIA or CSIS spy by this point.   but the good part is after bf told them not to call again or he would report them and the number to the police and phone company they finally stopped calling.

Thus number is a scam call   off shore using  a local number

I do not answer # I do not recognise. Let it go to machine, caller hangs up.

Keeps calling up to 3 times a day, had to unplug land line for a few days, they finally stoped.

Man asked for us by name...# similar to a friends #.  I said wrong number and hung up.

I have my # before pickup for ans. machine set at 2, which means that I don't catch legit calls all of the time. This number,as others stated, scam. I've had four blocked numbers call today. I used to have almost none. Does anyone know how to get them to not call without telling them to take us off "Do not call" list?

Joseph Wells called with a very professional voice. Sounded too good to be true: a years free membership that offered amazing discounts on our telephone bill, for example, and Zoomer Magazine for a year. All he needed was my full name and address, which he probably already had since we are in the phone book. I listened too long, trying very carefully not to say "Yes" so he would not spend on my credit card?? Finally I said "no" and looked him up: scam. How is Zoomer involved in this? Maybe he said "Zoom". Hmmm

same here, asked if Mr. and Mrs xxx, then I said wrong number, the caller said :I am sorry, I will update the list.

CARP, formerly the Canadian Association of Retired Persons, is a national, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that advocates on behalf of adults 45 and over.   (Like AARP)

Sick and fed up of these calls, if they come from offshore the Telephone companies should be blocking these calls.

How would the telephone companies know which calls you want blocked? Plenty of people get legitimate calls from "offshore" you know.

I never pick up the phone if I see an unfamiliar #. While my answering machine was talking, the caller called me by name (no surprise - I'm in the phone book!). But after "... leave a message after the tone, please", he remained silent for a few moments and then did not leave any message. Most likely he wanted to offer something.

and the freaks are still calling in 2022
