Yep, got a call from this guy, at first I thought it was a machine recording but it was a really nerdy, whiny sounding guy. Very rude man and totally full of crap. Don't give him any money or let him waste your time. He said he is going to call back even though I was firm in saying I wasn't going to donate.

I have had calls twice a day from this number for the last several weeks.  My husband is in hospital and seriously ill so it is particularly annoying when I am expecting calls from the hospital.  Is there any way this can be stopped.

I just got a call from this guy. He sounded very unprofessional and strange. He said "hello" in an unsure manner, then asked if he could speak to my "mom or dad." I asked what it was about and he said he would call back and that there was no message. It was an unsettling phone call.

I'm glad all of you have posted here as I received a call from this number today. No answer when my machine picked up the call. I felt I needed to research this number and here I am. Shady business, thanks to all of you, now I know for sure not to pick up for this number.

This is a scam. Called me with exactly the same MO. As I continued to say politely not at this time he continued to talk over me and explain why it was important and started to have a hostile tone. When I told him I don't do these types of things over the phone he again spoke over me and was insistent why it was important, challenging me about why I didn't think it was important. When I indicated I wasn't comfortable making a donation on the phone he talked over me trying to tell me there were other ways I could donate and as he was listing these WHILE I was talking, I informed him I was hanging up and did so as he was STILL talking to me. I am going to report this to the RCMP. Will post what they direct me to do if anything.

Update: As I did not give him money the RCMP requested that I contact the Canadian Anti Fraud Centre in ontario @ 1-888-495-8501. You can report on line @ https://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/RECOL/login.aspx?lang=en.

I would suggest everyone do the same, particularly those he is harassing with repeated calls!

Claimed that they were the Canadian Police Association and asked for donation of $25 to $35 for students that are bullied in schools. I was more than willing to donate after they transferred me to an "expert" and then asked for my credit card number. I believe that normally police association wouldn't ask for donations on a phone call so I hung up and I did some research on this phone number, then, I found out it was a scam call. I strongly recommend whoever receives another phone call from this phone to record it and send it to the police. This act of scam is not only bad, it is heartbreaking. Thousands of high school students are being bullied at school today and I believe using this excuse to scam folks that are willing to help is more than just a crime.

This goes well beyond annoying telemarketing calls!
I called the main number for the CPA headquarters in Ottawa (613 231-4168), and the scum-sucking bastids actually have a press 1 for our telemarketing programs, wherein they state iMarketing Solutions Inc, is contracted to raise funds for some (unintelligible) program for kids !
It's just free funds to pay execs and managers big money! In Canada, a registered charity can spend up to 80 fkn % of what it raises on costs to do so - other than the actual claimed purpose. This includes huge salaries, perks, offices/buildings, and a great long list of others.
Need to overhaul the Charities Act and the integrity of ALL charities. The Can. Cancer Society and Cdn. Heart Assns. (and their provincial counterparts) alone have raised billions over the years and only 20% goes to programs. Execs of both Prov. and head levels are paid in handsome 6 digit amounts! (published as part of Charities' requirements), and who knows what regional managers, etc. get paid...?
Lodge complaints to the Cdn Charities Commissions about the grotesque misuse of charitable funds given to charities, and give money to local charities who's admin costs don't exceed 20%.
... and tell the Telemarketers to blow it up their fat [***]!

Received a call soliciting for donations from this number for the "BC Police Association".  They are not associated to this number as far as I can tell.

Easy solution.  Put a block on the number.  The phone rings once only.  This phone number calls every day.  They don't seem to know when to give up.

Block his call.  I get a call from this number every day at the same time.
If you block it the phone will ring once and then stop. Was sucked in once with a call like this and sent a cheque.  Took forever for them to stop calling me.

I just received this call too.  "Canadian Police Association".  Gave me a speech about bullying in schools.  Asked if I would donate to help stop bullying.  I told him sorry but I don't have any extra money right now.  He hung up!!  If it was legit, he would have said thank you for your time or something.

Called and said was RCMP wanted donation to help prevent bullying.  Asked for donation. I offered to donate $30. Caller wanted me to agree to $300. I said no to caller 4 times that $300 was not ok.  Then caller said $30. I hung up on caller. I do not think the RCMP would pressure a person to donate more.  I have block this number from calling again.
