They try to collect amounts that are statute barred in Ontario 2 years from date of last activity just block them.

This number belongs to the scum organization called PRA Group....Those that "work" here should be shot

Apparently this call originated from sleazy debt collector PRA Group.  Obnoxious, rude lowlifes called me 3 times so far February 20, 2020 from "778-900-2243" and didn't have the courtesy or decency to take 5 seconds to leave a message.   These calls originate with scammers, telemarketers or shady debt collectors who use fake/phantom/random generated area code "778" and other area code numbers, in this case supposedly from "Vancouver".   These disconnected "hang-up" and "silent" calls are "phishing" or SCAM CALLS.  Their equipment registers when you connect and answer and then they will TRACK YOU as a possible "sucker" for EVEN MORE CALLS!   They rarely  leave a message like a legitimate caller.
NEVER, EVER answer these nuisance calls, even to argue or challenge the call!  DON'T ANSWER!  BLOCK THE NUMBER!  DON'T ANSWER "ANY" UNIDENTIFIED CALLS!    If it is a debt collector, they have no special power or status regardless of where they claim the debt is owed.  Bottom feeding debt collection companies hide behind many different phone numbers and pretend to be affiliated with authentic government agencies.  They purchase claims unverified in court for pennies on the dollar without checking whether the debt is valid (if a debt is legitimate a lender can file a claim throught the civil courts; making phone calls is just pointless harassment).  If you NEVER answer they will finally give up.  Unfortunately they exist because they can take advantage of robocalling and weak legislation to prey on and intimidate consumers.   Like the bad old days of junk faxes in the 1980s these "boiler room" operations will fade away eventually.   These calls will STOP all the quicker IF NO ONE ANSWERS these unidentified or annoyance calls!

Yep, it's those slime balls from PRA Group Canada. That's when an airhorn comes in handy, you just answer the phone and when they mentioned they are from PRA Group Canada, you just send them long blasts of the airhorn right into the phone.

Why would you want to damage your own hearing? Because that's all that would happen with your little stunt. Modern phones don't transmit sounds at harmful levels. Save your hearing and just block the number.
