- J_PThanks for everyone posting on this site. I got a winning card today too but no number on the back. Was claiming to be from Tristar as well. I guess the only cards like this you can ACTUALLY win on (but never do) are the ones you get from safeway when you leave the store. :)
Thanks again, I LOVE having the net to research this stuff. Sure makes it hard for scammers.- Caller: Tristar
- Rescue 2003 replies to JenniferWell, you drank the cool-aid, I guess. Or, you work for Respiraide, which is way more likely.

- mk@on replies to NelI won, I phoned, I used *67 so they could'nt track me, they first wanted phone #, they wanted to have a sales person phone and set up a in house presentation for a Respritaire. The company is called the Distribution Center in Ontario. They are step below the duct cleaners! They come in your house, sell something over priced, case the joint, put your personal info on the net, you get all the wacko companies phoning you, you get robbed one way or another. Research, buy local what you need, stay safe, protect your identity, your house! ( Mk from Toronto)

Desperate for business, I think so! - Tara replies to BigBrotherI have the exact same thing happen to me but I'm from eastern Ontario. When I called she said that they would like to show us a water purifier. He hasn't came yet still waiting.. Does these people try and sell you stuff? Or are they going to do something like identity. Theft? ... I'm a little nervous now.
- BuffyWe just got a card in the mail. There is no license number for lottery from the OLG so figuring this is a scam.

- Anon Imus| 4 repliesI just got a Super TicTacToe scratch and win . Deceptive as all the others. With phone numbers 1855-470-8372 - 905-470-8372 (18554708372 9054708372)
Exactly as explained here http://forums.redflagdeals.com/scam-108185/2/
I'm 100% sure everyone gets a price. Prices are "lined up" to make you think you won a TV. But the fine print says:
"Prizes determined by company Master's list". And guess what. It says that they print (I doubt) 1'600.000 cards. And from those, your chances to win 999/1000 are a Hotel 'instant' savings card for $500. That's what you will get. And I'll bet it will be useless. And to get that you will have to listen for an hour and a half a sales guy trying to convince you to buy some homecare product.
I agree, it may not look like a scam, but it is deceptive. And if they have never given away any REAL prize, somehow it has to be illegal. The problem is, nothing will happen. I already reported a similar one to OLG, and after a follow up they told me that they can't do anything.
A search in google with the terms: "company's master list" site:bbb.org
shows that the franchise is growing. These two companies look a copy of the same "brilliant" scheme:

- Calgary cowgirl replies to Anon Imus| 3 repliesI also got a card in the mail. I was interested so I called and sure enough I had some girl come and do a water presentation. At first I thought oh here we go, but she was actually really nice and informative. The water system was awesome so we thought what the hell. We financed one from her and it has made a huge difference in our house. I think the marketing is a little bit dumb but it's just marketing like flyers or tv commercials. Think about infomercials. You guys can think what you want but in my opinion this was not a scam. Just crappy marketing. All the financing was through TD so I doubt that a bank like TD would work with a shady company. Just a thought;)
- anon replies to Calgary cowgirlGood grief. You shills are just so predictable. Just a thought. ;)
- Jen replies to Calgary cowgirlThe Ontario LTD # led me to a water purification company. It's a legit company-but a hook scam to 'cold' call potential customers...pls do not respond or call the numbers...once you do, your number is registered for telemarketing calls and sold.
- RobertI think that using some common sense points to this being deceptive at best.
1. There are no serial numbers. Surely anyone giving away a million in prizes would have, to prevent fraud.
2. I can count more then 10 people that won the TV just online
3. The language used is nothing like a lottery ticket, "you may have won" ect
4. Its very suspicious to see a water purification (or vacuum) company give away prizes of this nature.
This is more-less a scam, its laid out in a way to make people believe the prizes are beside the matching pattern like authentic lottery tickets, In any true lottery we know what we won, not this master list crap, who nobody knows for sure.
Its my opinion this tactic is designed to advantage of people who may not be weary enough, the only way to stop it is flood the company with complaints, tell them release the master list, along with winners list..
I have a feeling that they will claim the big prizes have not been claimed, all but covering there tracks and liability, I had mine in the garbage pile unscratched , then my daughter scratched it for fun, at first she thought we won a PS4 (diagonal) , but then realized it was an X , the TV... and to be quite honest Id prefer the PS4 over the TV.- Call type: Telemarketer
- John replies to Calgary cowgirlI also saw the card in the mail. Scratched and saw that I won a Samsung Galxy Tab 3. Called the number and was told I had indeed won but needed to sit through presentation. The high pressure sales guy from High River came to North West Calgary, did his song and dance. While the product might be excellent, his high pressure sales tactic was a turn off and he made no sale and we got no Samsung Galxy 3. Instead, we received a Hotelsavingsbucks.com brochure and discount card. What kind of BS is that?
Don't bother scratching. Just through the damn card in the recycle bin. You'll help the environment most that way.
And, while the company may be legit, their marketing and sales tactics are shady at best relegating them to the same level of a scam. I'd rather pay more for a product sold by someone who shows respect and who I can respect as well. - JoshI must've received a card like this in the mail, my 9 year old son scratched it and got very excited, he thought we'd won, he even woke me up (mind you I work nights). Half asleep I looked the card over and like some people here have said it didn't look very official, nevertheless, curiosity got the best of me and so I called the number on it (905) 946-0761. I actually agreed to have someone come to my home to do the presentation, however, after a quick search, I found this thread, I called them back and cancelled.
- SI recently sat through the presentation. The poor salesman (he was just a kid) arrived 25 minutes late because he had to make a drive through the city in rush hour. The person who I booked the appointment with assured me it would take 30/45 minutes to hear the presentation. The salesman said he's supposed to spend 60/90 minutes! Nice job setting him up for failure from the start... I felt bad that I had to cut it short to pick up my son but if they had just been honest from the start... I couldn't buy their $6500 product anyhow. The "gift" is a hotel discount card ... I checked it out this morning. There are comparable and sometimes cheaper rates on hotels.com. Probably not worth your time...
