Probably scam.  If a debt collector, then why does my phone only ring two times and stops.  No messages or anything left.

Who calls anyone, much less a debt collector, before 7am?!

Called me 9:15am CST 16 AUG 18. My cell rang a couple of times and as I reached for the phone it stopped ringing. There was not time for it to have gone to voice mail. Robo trolling for valid numbers is my guess. Local police station is currently issuing warnings - trollers are doing these 2 ring hangups in the hopes that callers will be curious enough to call the numbers back and then you will be slammed with phone fees etc. This is not a legitimate debt collection agency. PLEASE do not call this number or any suspicious number back. If they are legit they will leave a voice mail coupled with a letter trying to reach you.

Scam blocking their number.

Trying to collect on debt not owed. Asked for proof of debt. Wanted an accounting of charges from original creditor told me they didn't have to and pay it now. Hung up and reported to FTC

I believe that they do not leave a message because that would force them to only call you twice per month(by law),by not leaving a message it could be consider a drop call allowing them the freedom to continueously call you whenever and however they choose.

By law the debt collector has to prove the original debt. Because 9 times out of 10 the debt is sold many times over, the original debt can't be proven.

You can request the origination of the debt, and the debt collector has to provide that to you in writing. Most times they can't provide it.

Please cite this imaginary law that everyone quotes about how many times they are allowed to call you.  I wonder why no one ever has?

The debt validation request must be made in writing and sent to the debt collector.

Number kept calling me, I answered once it was spam.

Received a call from this number on a Saturday afternoon.  I didn't answer nor did they leave a voicemail.

They called me today!  I don't think they are legitimate I don't have any outstanding debt.  I hope you didn't give them any money.

I answered the phone and then I started calling a new number. I hung up and blocked. Don’t care if is a collector or a spam. Use humans or get blocked. I don’t have time to talk to your computer.

I called them back after they called me and expected it to be a total scam act. It turned out to be a legitimate debt that I owed on. She asked for my phone number  and since I knew they already had it I gave it to her. She told me it was for some lab work I had forgotten to pay on, and the money was fairly low, like 53 dollars and the lab company I was sent to for the blood draw. I knew right away it wasn't a scam, if it had been the number would have been a lot higher I'm assuming.

This number called. Did not leave message. I called back they said they were a collection service with no specific name.

Received call from this number in the morning. Rang only few times and then disconnected. No voicemail left.

This number rang to me, when I answered it began ringing to another line.  A gentleman answered and immediately tried to verify me with address.  I said no.  He asked me to verify birth date. I said no and that I do not want to verify any of this information over the phone.  He asked for SS#.  Uhm.  Big no.  He said "without being able to verify information, I am unable to continue this call."  I said OKEY DOKEY!  And now I'm blocking the number.
