Robo-call two rings and then hangs up with no voice mail

Recommendation here from someone who answered a hospital switchboard; just hang up on any automated voice as soon as it starts talking. When you press numbers from a prompt, at the very least you're letting the scammers know there's a live person on the other end who will pick up,and at the most, sometimes, depending on the numbers you are told to press, you could be setting up your business phone to automatically forward calls--when this happens, the scammer will call back later, using that forwarding service to call long distance/international/pay by the minute numbers. They get a free call/money, and your business winds up footing the bill for it.

If you have a decent IT department (the guys who do phones/computers in larger businesses), report the number to them and ask if they can exclude the number from your trunkline (assuming you have a multi-line switchboard in your business that all the lines go through). If not, let the boss know so that s/he can look into getting the number blocked. Until then, if you have permission, don't answer that line, or if you have to, since you already know the number, just pick up and hang up again. Also keep a log of those numbers/times/date to help identify them in the future (it will also help your IT out too if they're the ones who wind up taking care of the problem).

You might also be able to report the numbers to your phone carrier as being used by scammers. Never call the number back by the way; that just tells them they'll get a response and, if they hit the right set of lies in the future (often using a different number), a score.

The do not call list is for "legitimate: businesses only.  Robo Calls and or others "not legitimate" use numeric sequences  IE: last four 0001 then dials 0002 etc. so you are not targeted individually its just made it to your number in the list.   So frustrating.

Received a call from this # telling me my warranty on my car is bout to expired i asked them what warranty and they hung up on me

Car warrantee scam.

It appears they're still calling people. I just woke up and my phone starts ringing. Call ID puts a +1 at the front of the number. That's my first indicator that it's a scammer. Having no use for them, I don't answer.

Got it today on the cell phone.  The LG cell phone has a setting so it won't answer unless it is in my contact list but records the number.  The home phone, Ooma Premier, "no more robos", and has a block list I can add to but I rarely bother with anymore since it has caller ID.  One simple rule, if the identifying caller only has a city, or just a number forget it.  Thanks all for the information!

Unknown caller left no message.  Thanks to 800Notes, I decided it was a spam call and blocked it from my iPhone.

CID Get Cash. Call recvd on cell, no message was left. Roboscam/spam/spoof/phish.

Called my personal cell phone after business hours, I did not answer since I didn't recognize the number, no message left so I assume it is a telemarketer or scammer.

Got a call from this number and it was a man eho asked for me by name. I couldn’t get his name or company name because of his accent but sounded somewhat like Glass for tge company. He then went a head to try to verify one of my addresses and when I asked him what the call was in reference to he told me he would tell me in a min after I verify the info. I then told him it didn’t seem the convo will be going any further and hung up.
