Got a voicemail from this number today. The voicemail started with the sound of a phone ringing as if I was calling someone. A woman picked up and kept saying hello and hi, then hung up. Didn't say anything else. Robocall, I guess. I could hear a bunch of chatter in the background, as if possibly at a call center. I've been getting these types of voicemails a lot lately.

I answered out of curiosity. A man with a middle eastern accent identified himself as George Miller from the US Federal Grant Department. I told him I didn't believe him and hung up. I almost wish I would have listened to his spiel just to see what kind of scam he was running. I've been getting a lot of calls from "academic advisors" lately. No thanks, I've got my own advisor and if it was for real I would have found out about any grants and financial aid from my college.

Sitting in the library studying for a final I noticed a missed call. I pressed redial and got a message from Verizon stating," This number has been changed or is no longer in service." OK, noted. The phone companies are getting paid and don't care about the obvious abuse the consumers are getting. How does a number change or become disconnected in five minutes? It doesn't. I suspect China, but that's just me. Anyway, the bad Karma's on them. It's all we have, the corporations get paid, that's all that matters. Who's going to stop them?

I got two calls today  at 3:51 & 6:30 pm. The second time I picked it up and a gentleman with a heavy accent told me the government was callin to congratulate me for no bankruptcy and for paying my bills on time to offer me a one thank you of $9,000 simply by very fingers info for him at which time he would transfer me to the finance department to get my bank info. I told him I worked for the government and calling after 5 pm business time is considered spam calling. The Government doesn't call you; they send special mail for things. He finally hung up
