Got a call from this number and someone (east indian accent) said they were from telus and I have won a free cell phone. They asked how many cell phones I have with Telus, I replied 1. He then ask for my address so that they can ship the phone out to me. I didnt give it to him and I knew he was going to ask for credit card info soon, so I started drilling him with questions. I asked him how he got the number because this is a work cell phone, he said it is a predictive dialer (which I doubt because they have called many times over the past month and this is the first time I am speaking with someone)Then I asked him what city they are based in, he replied Brampton, Ontario. I then asked for his full name and rep #, the [***] hung up on me!

Scammer!

It's the 2nd time I get the same call as everybody else. A guy with an East Indian accent tells me that I've won a free cell phone. Both times I've yelled at him saying that I was not interested and to leave me alone (I knew it was a scam - Telus would not need to ask how many Telus cell phones we have with them since they would see it on their computer screen, and they would not need to ask us for our address since that's also on their computer screen)... So I yelled really loud at him and hung up.

I hope the [***] has an 'in-ear' headphone so that it hurt his head bad. Next time he calls, I will be ready with a whistle. Let's see how he will like that!

Bloody scamers!

These types of calls have become a typical "export" of Canada. Canada, with Toronto and Montreal, has become the world's number-one telemarketing fraud capital.

Remember: Always keep the ON switch of your brain in the ON position. There are way too many people out there wanting to scam you.

Just got a call from this number. Man with an Indian accent said I had won a free cell phone and wanted to know how many cell phones I had. I knew instantly it was a scam and said I wasn't interested. He asked why, for "quality assurance purposes." I told him that I didn't believe it was Telus and hung up.

These fools called about some scam, I hung up. They called back repeatedly, each time I hung up. They didn't call anymore, after I got out my trusty whistle and used it.

Strange phone call...I picked up and someone on the other end was making fart noises, then giggling. They did hang up though, after I asked if they could fart to the tune of the "Star Spangled Banner" !

Got one today . Didn't answer. The number was too odd. I will have my whistle ready for next time.

It's actually a number about question from mooncation to order a trip to the moon it only cost about 5 million dollars

Damn !!! J'ai deux numéro de téléphone à la maison, ils ont appeller à 19:01 sur le premier numéro et à 19:03 sur l'autre !! La première fois, j'ai répondu rapidement et ca l'avait raccrocher donc j'ai cru que c'était parce que j'avais répondu trop vite et je me suis dit que si c'était important qu'ils allaient rappeller.. 2 minutes plus tard... le téléphonne sonne.. je laisse sonner 2 - 3 coups pour être sur.. et sa raccroche quand même.. Je fouille alors dans ma "call list" et c'était le 1-800-123-4567 !!! Alors je m'apercois que ca n'avait aucun de bon sens, je fait une recherche sur google et je tombe ici .. je suis bien contente de pas m'être fait prendre !!! Merci.

je reçois un appel d'une femme accent québécois qui dit travailler pour un grossiste en viande. je lui coupe la parole pour lui dire que je suis végétarien.  je fais *69 pour apprendre que l'appel provient du 800-123-4567 (bizarre).  En rappelant... aucun service à ce numéro.

I don't know who this 800-123-4567 is but they've called my home phone every 10-15 minutes all day long. I've picked up a couple of times and only hear a dialtone. I'm on both the federal and state no-call lists.

Got a call from 800-123-4567. Dead air when I answered. It seems to me that this would not be a legitimate number from a serious company.

I just got a call from them, He had the accent, asked me how many phones I had, and if I was a minor. But that's it. he asked "and you're not a minor, right?" and I replied "yes" so maybe he thought I meant I was. Either way there wasn't anyway I would give out personal info on the phone.
So irritating.,

Could be a spoof number via Skype or a similar service? They appear to use other numbers, as well, with a regular area code and the number 234-5678. Caller ID is a string of numbers  preceded by a "V".  I hope the attorneys general of the US and each state pursues these [***].

I got a back to back calls from this number on my cell phone. I don't answer numbers i don't recognize, so i didn't talk to anyone. They left a message full of static on my voicemail.

On this date Sept 6, 2010 time 6:12 am, Just received a phone call from 800-123-4567 and no one answer. I don't know what is the purpose of this call.

I did a google search for Sunshine promotions and found out the FBI is investigating them for fraud.
I have a simple solution for unwanted calls- don't answer the phone in the first place. Just disconnect the call by pressing the phone button and immediately the off button. That way it won't even go to voice mail.
