As far as I was informed, this is a part of Chase bank. The problem is, they don't act like most bank employees. First, right off the bat they want your SSN. If you tell them "sorry, I don't have to give this out over the phone. I'd like to request a different method of authentication." THEY WILL HANG UP ON YOU!!!!

They tell me I have a balance which i owe, however, they will not send a written statement. (RED FLAG!!!) This doesn't seem legitimate. I've never heard of a company (that isn't shady) refusing to send a written statement of your current balance. (adjusted or not)

Also, they seem to only want to accept a money order...  

I've been told by lawyers that this is either a scam, or a very unprofessional company who thinks they are above the law.

I say, 'SCAM, corporate A$$HOLES... either way they don't care about YOU!' if this is the case do not do business with them.

This is a scam... they are seriously just looking to scare people into paying! DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE!!  I've called Chase via their listed number and apparently they have no idea what I'm talking about. Apparently I don't owe anything yet these people are attempting to collect from me. DO EVERYONE A FAVOR AND PUT THESE PEOPLE OUT OF A JOB BY NOT PAYING!!!

THIS IS A SCAM!!!! When you receive the call it hangs up on you or puts you in an infinite hold loop. This forces you to call them back if you want to know who keeps calling you. As stated by 'chase h8er' this is clearly either a scam or very illegal activity by a national bank! do not settle for such treatment!!! Tell them to come grab the money from the hand that's not holding the gun!

i didnt receive any call i found out who they were because they withdrew my current bank account for the amount of 284.00 and claim this is a chargeoff account from 2004 from washington mutual and i never had an account with washington mutual in 2004 i need a lawyer to take them to court!!!!!

I've gotten several calls from this number on my cell and, just like some other posters, they never leave a message or hang up.  So, I called back the they immediately asked for my account number or social security number.  I had to ask them what company they represented and they responded Chase.  I do business with Chase, but I never gave them my cell number and I don't own them any money.  All Suspicious in my book.

Called chase and said I have a closed account that I owe a balance on and this is the number they gave me so it seems legitimate.

So i agree and when i got a similar call it was like so confused and this is real hopefully it was just a scam because i hung up and i didn't pick up!

If you didn't pick up then how could you have hung up the phone?
