received numerous calls over the past few weeks from a "krista"...she was representing herself as the "New York Heal and Hospitals Corporation"...the hospital network my company works with.  i knew it was fishy bc of the private number (the NYCHHC 's phone number always shows up on our caller ID) and very vague msgs she left with our assistant.

i finally spoke with her today and she said "i am calling from the New York HHC" which is a blatant misrepresentation.  she was being very pushy with me about committing to buying an ad...told her to send me something in writing or fax.  got this number from the fax as well as the address

i noticed other reviews on here with that address with the said company claiming to be selling ads for school districts

i called and left a msg hoping they will call me back so i can call them out on their lies

Caller: "TEXAS HOSPITAL GUIDE"
This is a telemarketing company (selling advertising) who's name is so generic (Medical Publishing), it is difficult to trace in any of the search engines.  The 800# is based in Philadelphia.  They identify themselves as "representatives from "XYZ" Hospital". The final product (paid with your advertising, and certainly a worthwhile profit margin) is simply a compilation of medical facilities with a phone number. This is unethical practice and certainly misrepresentation.  You have been lead to believe that you are speaking to your client and you are advertising in your clients medical magazine.  This of course may be one of several "spins" to their approach.  

Received a notice in the mail today selling ads in the Michigan Hospital Guide.  The letter stated that we ran an ad last year and that if we sent them $395.00 they would run the same ad again this year. Looking back through our records we have never signed up to run an ad through them.  I called to see if they could get me a copy of last years ad and verification that we purchased an ad. I am still waiting to hear back. I bet they never call.  The letter did look pretty offical like something we would normally see from a legitament company.  Sneaky scam.  I am glad we caught it and did not send a check to this bogus operation.

they hang up once I ask who's calling or if I tell them the person is not available.  I tried to call them back they hang up on you.  Can't stand those calls!  Once I reach a girl named "Karen Brown" I will give her an earful and will hang up!

Received a call from 1-800-220-2956 from a woman claiming to be Kim Grant.  She asked to speak with the principle or architect in charge of one of our current hospital projects.  Once I asked what company she was with, she said "the medical center".  I asked her which medical center and she said the name of the hospital we are currently doing work for.  I then transfer her to the architect in charge of that particular project and Kim proceeds to try and sell her a $500 "ad" for the hospital publication.  First of all, this hospital is a rural hospital and we know for a fact they don't have a "hospital publication" and secondly, we have pretty much met all of the hospital admin staff and have never heard of Kim Grant.  This call IS A TOTAL SCAM!  Do not give this woman any money or commit to purchasing a bogus ad from her.  You will regret it. Ask specific questions and that appears to throw her off her script.  She's very pushy and when we finally said we weren't interested and didn't have the authority to make financial decisions, she wouldn't leave us a # to call her back.  Very shady!  BEWARE!--

The caller didn't introduce himself. Asked if (phonetically similar name to my employer's Chief Medical Officer) was still the president over there.

This company is a complete scam, calling our vendors saying we contracted with them when we've never heard of them! If anyone gets a call from them for whatever hospital they're "supposedly" representing....RUN!

Received a letter from Jim Turner at Medical Publishing stating that we authorized an ad "same as last year" with confirmation# 9017585. Called number listed. They hang up, it rings forever or you receive voicemail box. I let them know this isn't authorized and will NOT be paid. Let's see if they call back.

This company is still at it. Ken Wheeler called this morning asking for owner by name and claiming to be with the Dept. of Health.  No specific state was mentioned.  Put him on hold, did a quick search & found this site.  Gave him an excuse why owner wasn't available and he said he would just email him regarding the hospital.  Complete bogus call - how / why does this company stay in business?

Called regarding an "open invoice" asked for Ap Dept. Thank goodness for this site. SCAM.
